Noticed this piece about Shaw Lane moving grounds…Given what we saw when we visited I think it was inevitable
I wonder if there is anywhere nearby that they could share and is up to Northern Prem standard. Playing out of the area will only reduce the size of an already relatively small fan base. Will their money men go as far as purchasing land and building a new stadium long term? Interesting.
Another small club over-reaching themselves, when will club’s ever learn, you don’t last 127 years spending money you do not have.

We went close mind you a salutary lesson there, Sl I think will struggle a bit I know the plumbing man is putting money in but when you try to match a ground to your ambitions it’s very expensive plus running a team that’s used to big wages and it sounds like the Rugby team want them out interesting times. Very “Colne Dynamos” by the looks of it.

Rumoured to be ground-sharing with Athersley Recreation, which is also part of Barnsley. Whether their ground is upto the required standard is another matter.
I’ll be at as many away games as I can next season but there are two I have already put in the “I might not be able to get to that one” category namely Shaw Lane and Mickleover Sports. They stick out like a sore thumb against the calibre of the other clubs in the Northern Prem we will visit. I could well be proved wrong though! UTA
Strangely enough, I grew up half a mile from Mickleover’s ground and they’re the away day I’m looking forward to the most! I know a few people who have defected to them as Derby’s best non-league offering since Burton have started taking themselves seriously.

What is the ground/set up like?
These days I have absolutely no idea, I was a kid when I was back that way.
My step dad goes to watch them a fair bit and describes them as having “a nice little setup” but it’s anyone’s guess what that could mean! I did promise to go with him at the back end of last season which would have been a good scouting trip but the Witton fixtures didn’t really allow it.
