Simmo has just tweeted that Anthony Sheehan has resigned.
i feel for the bloke, all players have let him down and should be ashamed
Agree the players need to look at themselves, good luck Sheens in what ever you do next.
Agreed Pooley the lads played like Champions to ensure he got the job then took their foot off the gas as soon as he got it! Feel so sorry for Sheens
Absolutely gutted for the lad. He picked the strongest teams that were at his disposal and they let him down.
Wasn’t expecting that! Not Sheehan’s fault the down turn in our fortunes, wish him all the best.
Where do we go from here?
traffords manger
I’ll do it!!
Pleased to hear that Sheens is staying on as a player, some of his team mates need to be apologising to him on Tuesday and i hope he plays against Frickley as we have missed his gritty battling performances
I believe he’s staying with us as a player.
Top bloke.
Simon Burton seems to be doing a great job at Runcorn Town, but with the 30 strong applicants who applied last time I am sure the chairman isn’t short of people.
I didn’t forsee that we would miss him on the pitch as much as we have done. Very pleased he is staying on as a player, we really need him.
Given what has happened I would have thought it would be sensible for the club to have a breather and take as much time is required to ensure the correct appointment is made.
Runcorn town whilst doing well in the FA cup so far are only 16th on the NWCFL div 1 so hardly a cv to get the Witton job, I don’t think he got to be interviewed last time so I suspect whoever was second on the list of applicants after Sheens will be named but who that is I have no idea. Also glad Sheens is staying as a player/ coach. That will give us more options if we play him in front of the back four.

As CJ says, the logical step would be to go for the person who was lined up before the players won Sheenz the job - IF they would still be willing to take it.
A shame.
All the best Sheenz, you’ve been a great servant to this club.
Edit: just seen he’s stopping on as a player. :clap

I fully understand that logic however there were one or two names mentioned yesterday that, in my opinion, would be worth the club at least considering. Whether or not they were on the initial list I don’t know but I don’t think they were.
