Witton make the long trip to County Durham on Tuesday night, when they take on Shildon AFC in the Emirates FA Challenge Cup First Qualifying Round replay.
Saturday’s game produced a six-goal thriller but Witton must be wondering how they didn’t win after holding a 3-1 lead.
The Railwaymen never gave up and got themselves back in the game and deserve credit for that and either team could even have won it in the latter stages.
The replay is clearly a game that Witton could have done without but that’s where we find ourselves and we have another opportunity to get the right result.
What team the management are able to put out we will find out but the situation is not ideal although they will be looking to progress in the competition.
The game is being played at Crook Town, ironically Witton played there in the same competition a year ago and came away with a 2-0 win.
How Witton would settle for a similar result on this occasion but different opposition and different circumstances.
The winners face a game against Morpeth Town in the Second Qualifying Round but so both teams will be hoping to continue in the competition.
Kick off at The Sir Tom Cowie Millfield Stadium is 7.45pm
