As its Gazza’s birthday were gonna have a little party for him before the Live FA Cup game at 5 15pm

Thank you for the handful of Wittoners that came Happy birthday Gazza.

PS the game against Stocksbridge ,
can we have volunteers for the Tea hut, social club, etc .
Us 12 are off to the dogs

The few of us who bothered to turn up had a good afternoon I really don’t know what is the matter with our supporters the club as a whole needs everyone’s support at the games AND any social evenings it really pisses me off when I hear people who are so called supporters moaning about us needing players and us having no money well DOH we need SUPPORT how can you call yourselves supporters if you can’t be bothered to go to these functions and HOME matches rant over

personally speaking it’s not a case of “being bothered” it’s having other commitments such as Work and looking after the Kids. Rants like that makes it feel like being a witton fan is a chore not Something to enjoy.

Rant over

I appreciate what your saying but doesn’t it seem funny all of a sudden the attendance has fallen and it’s the same people who do all the work and attend functions I still say those who spat their dummies out mostly over the tuck situation well grow up and if your truly witton fans get back and support the club or there will be no club .gwyneth chesworth UTA

I’m not sure that wanting the club to part ways with a player who went to jail for racist tweets and got the clubs name into the national press for all the wrong reasons is spitting a dummy out.

Crowds will always be down when the team isn’t doing as well; last season we had the buzz of being promoted and were doing brilliantly. This season games are being called off left right and centre, and we’re struggling at times on the pitch. There was bound to be a drop off in crowds

As for “Wittoners” not supporting the team, all I can see nowadays is people on Facebook, Twitter or here moaning about people not turning up to this function or that function, or this away game or that home game. Its pretty depressing all round when people are acting like children on social media. Someone said to me today that if anyone not affiliated with a local club was considering coming to games, one look at social media would send them straight to 1874.

Instead of boasting that you walked to Kings Lynn, or moaning that somebody went to watch Runcorn, or crying about Shaun fucking Tuck, can we please just stop the bitching and complaining? It’s getting pretty boring to not come to an event and then read on Facebook that im not a Wittoner because I wasn’t there.

ENOUGH SAID !!!

Brilliant post Mookie :clap

The divide between sections of our support is probably too great to heal now, its sad that its come to this but then again we have around 300 fans so obviously its too much to expect everyone to get along, most of us will have people living next door who we never speak to!

If people choose not to attend functions then that is their right, if people choose not to have a drink in the social club before a match then that is their right, my only gripe is if the same people then moan about the lack of funds available for Pritch to spend on the team, we are really struggling right now, wages still need to be paid, bills need paying and with 2 home games cancelled and a run of away games coming up we have had no income since Xmas! Sharon and Andy opened the bar on Saturday to try and get some much needed cash as Neil was rightly worried about the lack of cashflow for the club

Agree with this YR and everyone working hard for the club should be applauded. Money is tight, probably for fans too after Christmas so every little bit helps.

Im just sick of all the tit for tat nonsense online, so hopefully we can all move forward and accept that not everyone gets on, and just support the team.

UTA!

I don’t use Facebook so can’t comment on any of that, but I am shocked to read that this situation is as serious as it obviously is :frowning: I can’t believe people are STILL arguing over Tuck that is beyond me!!! As for people not going to functions or having a pint that’s pathetic if they could do these things I am sure they would, and I would believe that they contribute in other ways to club as much as they can.

Just my opinion but I hope people can grow up and move on from this situation.

Its great that we have a section of our fanbase who can attend 90% of games and social events, that income is really important.

We also have a section of our fanbase that maybe attend 4 or 5 games a season. They might not buy a pint in the club, but they probably buy a programme and maybe a new shirt or scarf once a season. That income is vital also.

It might not be huge, but we really don’t want to lose it.

The worry with posts such as Gwyneth’s above, is that it might make those occasional supporters feel that we don’t want them when really we do want and need them very much.

If anything we need more of them.

We should be doing all we can to make EVERY supporter feel welcome. If that’s for one game a season or 40 it really shouldn’t make any difference.

We were brilliant at doing that for 2 or 3 years, now the attitude seems to be “all or nothing”.

I don’t see that at ANY other football club - so why at ours?

Just because somebody doesn’t come and watch Arsenal v Spurs at Witton doesn’t mean they don’t care about the Club. It could just mean that they don’t care about Arsenal or Spurs.

What they might be doing however is paying into the lottery every month, or they might have had a go on Lenny’s 200 Club, might be paying a standing order into the Development Fund, or could be sat at home designing the next Programme.

We ALL do our bit.

If somebody is moaning that the team is rubbish, then yes ideally we want them to get more involved and help the Club to put it right. But if they have paid their £9.50 to watch us play then they have done their bit already, and anything else is a bonus. Telling them they aren’t real fans is only going to result in one thing - ie; they wont be coming back again.

So let’s all carry on doing what we can, when we can. If its a lot, then brilliant. If it’s just a little bit, then again that’s brilliant too.

The main thing is that we all continue to support Witton Albion in the best way that we can as individuals.

If we want to move forward, then that’s how it starts.

Its even written on the Club crest… OPTIMA TUA AGE. Be YOUR best.

Agreed. Its not like Wittoners to have an argument and you are nowhere to be seen

Ha ha ha can’t argue with that  I do love trouble
