The york fans want to know if your social club is going to be open tomorrow?
The social club is open because Runcorn are playing at home, I don’t honestly know if they have the same rule as us that you have to enter the social club via the turmstiles
yes runcorn have the same rules as witton, entry to the social club from inside the ground only.
What a shame  Game off over the canal v York - that will do wonders for the cashflow problems.
Whilst I understand the reasons for the current club access procedure, I can’t help but feel we are missing an opportunity for extra revenue.
It seems supporters (Telford and York that we know of) visiting the Dark Side of the canal want to visit us for pre/post-match refreshment.
Can we not come up with a scheme to accomodate them?
No benefit to us eddiec - the steward gets all the money - we could only make any money by charging them to come in,which they will not do and who can blame them. Our only income from the social club is a set amount which the steward pays us,thats the agreement for him running the social club as did the ex-chairman last season.
Fair enough eli, I wasn’t aware of that.
I thought the new deal was structured differently than when the ex chairman took all profits, my understanding at the info meeting was that the football club also took a percentage of profits

Correct Big Bob the football club would benfit from the extra income so this is something that should be looked at because once a set level of income is generated by the social club the club then gets a percentage cut of profits.
Only quoting what the acting chairman told us when the V*cs played Telford and we were instructed to charge them £5 to gain entry to the social club via the turnstile as we would not gain anything by letting them straight into the club. Tried at a £1 first and could not repeat on here what they said.
Nothing to gain on the day but over time…maybe?
Bring it up at the AGM ?
There are some very good posts being made on this forum, and as such, we don’t intend to wait until the AGM to discuss these points further. Discussion started last night with Mark Harris, Crouchy, Pete Jespon, Pete Riley and a few others.
Option
Before the game, open the front doors to the Social Club, but lock the doors to the corridor from the Social Club and the Tom Stelfox Lounge. This would mean no access from the ground to the Social Club before the game.
Benefits
People not wanting to watch Runcorns’ or our home games could still get a drink before the match, such as York or Telford supporters.
Shortcomings
Although these doors would be locked, it would not be all the time, as access would be needed at times (e.g. to allow sponsors to gain access to the ground from the Tom Stelfox lounge).
This used to be the option when we first moved to Wincham Park, but it was abused by some fans sneaking through the doors when they were unlocked.
We need to sort out how we can get around some of these shortcomings and re-implement this option.
The the Social Club and the board would appreciate you thoughts.
Put a coded door lock on that only a select few know.
WHS.
How many people are we talking about - 3 Cambridge, 3 Telford and not one York came to the turnstile( except the guy who thought WP was the home of the Vcs)enquiring about the social club - not too much profit in them. There were more of these fans who parked for free not wanting to pay Vcs parking charges.
When we play FC UTD shortly how are we going to cash in on their support ? That seems a more important issue at the moment.

Good points Eli.
The FCUM game has already been discussed, but any fresh ideas are very welcome.
Suggestions so far:
1, Open, at the Lostock end, an extra tea hut, selling hot drinks and cold snacks (unfortunately we don’t have the equipment to sell hot snacks at this end). We will also need extra volunteers to man this tea hut.
-
I have approached a local bus company to see if we can arrange a coach from Northwich Train station to the ground, to encourage more FCUM fans to make the trip.
-
I will be contacting FCUM Board to request their input on how we can make it a more attractive visit to our club for their supporters, and also to make sure that whatever we do do, we advertise the fact beforehand on their website/Forum.
Will there be segregation for the FC Utd game ? If so they will be having the Wincham End I presume ?
Are we letting them into the Social Club before the game ?

Good questions Eli!!
I don’t know the answers, but I will make sure they are put to the board!
As far as I know, FCUM supporters are generally better behaved than some we have had down here before now. Does anybody know of anything to the contary? They seemed alright when they came for the pre-season friendly against Nantwich.
Whatever, they are all good points for discussion. It might make sense to form an action group for this game to put all ideas forward for early discussion and decision?
Action group - good idea TT. We are going to need 2 more gate persons for starters. As we are probably going to be outnumbered by 5 to 1 I think we can forget segregation, they are a decent bunch of supporters who need to be encouraged to have all the facilities we can offer them so that Pete Jepson can have a chance to make a bob or two if he thinks he can cope with them.
Will FCUM have wrapped up the title by then?! After the performace against us earlier in the season they must be 30 or so points clear at the top by now?!
An Action Group sounds like a decent idea.
Perhaps ensuring the girl behind the bar wears a similar outfit to the Boston game, and posting photos on FCUM’s forum, will ensure as many of them as possible make the trip?!
