I have started this thred because the other one had got totally off the subject, Vics. I say sod them, they will go bust sooner rather than later, let’s face it they have been on borrowed time for years, we on the other hand are still finacially sound with our own ground, great supporters, a smashing board and what appears to be a good coaching staff, we are bound to be successful. COME ON THE ALBS!!!
WHS - you will miss them if they go.
They have been part of your life as lomg as Witton. Thay are your rivals,they were the first team that you looked for when the results went up in the Guardian office window all those years ago after you had ran down Witton Street as the final whistle blew at the Central Ground. You miss the tremendous cheer that went up as a defeat for V*cs was recorded on the results board. You could’nt wait for the Saturday Football Pink, Green and Sentinel to arrive at your newsagent for confirmation and on a thursday the biased reports in the Northwich Guardian. You wish they were still in the same league as us so that you could argue all day at work who was the best and then settle it on a saturday.

You are right Eli I would miss them but I don’t want or expect them to go completely, just be playing in the North West Counties second division, hopefully not with us!! As for arguing at work, I’m retired and I only have the wife to argue with and she just doesn’t understand when I get heated about sport, she thinks I’m bonkers, so there is not much fun in it. Anyway only one promotion or one relegation seperate us now, providing the Vics don’t go belly, up so you might get your wish of being in the same league as them sooner rather than later.

Let’s not lose sight of the real victims of all this - the creditors who will end up getting shafted yet again. Local businesses will surely run a mile from the arabs, but what we must depend on is that they don’t turn their back on local football completely!
