Witton Albion Under 18’s are in action on Friday night when they travel to South Liverpool in the FA Youth Cup First Qualifying Round.
The team have progressed to this stage following an excellent performance and result against Hyde United in the Preliminary Round, whilst South Liverpool overcame Ramsbottom United.
Under the guidance of coaches Chris Appleton and Shaun Carter, the team have performed well in pre season and in their opening games of the season so far.
Some of the players have already been involved with the first team and the signs are there could be others who may follow the same pathway.
Goalkeeper Finnan East, midfielder Harry Woods and Charlie Peters have all featured in the first team squad whilst Louis Patterson and Jack Hill have also signed first team forms in the last week.
It’s early days in their development but just to experience being around the first team setup can only stand them in good stead for the future.
Witton face a tough game at South Liverpool as they look to progress in the competition but, if they can show the same commitment and determination as they did against Hyde United, they have every chance.
The game will be decided on the night with penalties if the tie is drawn after normal time.
Kick off at the Jericho Lane Sports Hub is 7.45pm.

At New Mersey Retail Park Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Speke Road/A561. Continue to follow A561 for 3.2 miles. Turn left onto Jericho Lane - Destination will be on the left after 0.3 miles. (Total Distance - 23.0 miles).

Admission is via the entrance to the hub and is by way of Card or cash payments. Please note: Card payments are accepted at the reception in the hub.
