I hope so. I’ve been so depressed since I heard this rumour. The wife thinks I’m even more miserable than normal and she’s noticed this worsening change in me over the last couple of days!!AS I keep saying what ever happens we, (all 500 or so fans want Jim at Wincham Park for many years to come). With Jim at the helm anything is possible and that might even include Full conference eventually if Jim stays and builds on what we have already. Look how its snowballed this season with higher gates, obvious passion from the fans and above all a great deal of interest. The finacial side of things can only get better if we keep playing well and continue with our initiatives like getting the kids involved, fund raising activities, more little dos at the club, staying united. On ward and upwarc with our Jim and Nige I hope, and Pray!!
C’mon Jim lad you’d miss me moaning at you in the club after games you know you would!!
I 3rd that, JV please post on here and set our minds at rest!! Whatever happens we need you here next season!!!
To be honest I don’t think Jim needs to come on here to tell us that he’s staying! People are reacting to a report in a newspaper, not everything you read is true! Jim and the fans have a mutual respect, I think that we’d be the first to know if his immediate future did not lie at Witton Albion
I have said in the past that i feel that jim’s future is not with us. I think that football league club beckons for him, the football he gets his teams to play is excellant to watch and is also capable of grinding out results but that is the future not today, Leek will win tonight we will win the league on saturday. Jim will hold the trophy aloft and take us into next season.
Why would any of us want a manager who’s sole ambition is nothing greater than to manage a non-league club?! Jim will be here until he feels he can take us no further, or until he gets an offer that he doesn’t feel that he can refuse - and that is how it should be.
I don’t think this thread is helping matters at all.
If you want to know if he is staying then ask him on Saturday!! He doesn’t need to come on here to ease our minds - he has a big week to plan for!!!
Having read the Guardian interview. The biggest factor to me is why are there 2 contracts on the table?!?
Surely he is our most valuable commodity and as such a deal should have been done to secure his future REGARDLESS of which league we are in next year.
He was given a 2 year deal when we were struggling, surely he deserves the minimum same length of contract again based on the clubs performance and progress both on and off the pitch.
Come on Board sort this ridiculous distraction out.
What 2 contracts?

To be fair I don’t think we need to worry about an aproach from a league club from what I understand Jim has a good ‘day’ job so I doubt he would want to risk full time management at someone like Bury, Stockport or even Crewe.
I would personally love to see Jim sign on for the next few seasons but what happens if we don’t go up? I wouldn’t be suprised if we have spent a bit more than we should on the playing budget this year, what would happen next year if we were in the Unibond again? Go for broke one last time or consolodateour financial position?
What I am saying is if it was the latter could we afford to keep Jim?
Jim has been fantastic for this club and the best manager I can remember in my 16 years of watching Witton but at the end of the day we don’t want to end up like those across the canel in spending more than we have got and getting ourselves in a sticky situation.
All very hypothetical you understand but I just thought worth considering!

The article in yesterday’s Guardian quotes MW as saying ‘there are 2 packages on the table, depending on which league we are in next season’.
Agree with young Chad on this but can’t believe someone as astute as both Mike and Jim have not met to discuss this. I’m sure by two contracts probably what is meant is there are two budgets one that reflects Conf north football and another that is Unibond league football. What does worry me is that FC United and Bradford Park Albion may come up and they will be big spenders. So next season we could be in the running again with free spending clubs. We simply need to get promotion and if its via the play offs then so be it!! Lets get up keep Jim and build on the existing team we have. I actually think we could do well in the conf north with the existing team as the grounds are going to be better and the standard of actual football better. Look at Burscough they’ve done ok in their first season. Telford have got almost a new team and don’t play properly anyway!!
I do think someone from the Board side of things though could annouce something to clarify the position we don’t need all this speculation before the three important matches we may have!!
Jim needs all our support now and whatever the outcome we as fans are 100% behind him so lets get this sorted!!
Jim is stil the manager and the best one we have had for years. We have a fantastic chairman who is, I have no doubt, doing all he can to keep that manager. Lets get behind the team on Saturday, show our appreciation of the great football that we play and hope that Fleetwood cock it up. Lets not forget there is match to win. We are in the process of building a vibrant club that people want to be involved with and I have no doubt that Jim and the players know that. Plenty of them could have left with Benny for a few more quid but chose to stay at the mighty Albion. Long may it continue. It’s the best time I have had watching Witton since we finished mid-table in the Conference all those years ago. And its down to Jim, Mr Worthington and players who remained loyal, not to mention all those who do plenty of work at the club to ensure that there is a game for us to watch on Saturday. Well done to you all, you know who you are.

Well said we have a great manager who has a raport with the fans some could only dream of! how many managers would come down and watch the under 11s game on a saturday then hang around to have a chat after the game? without new blood our club was dying at least under Jim the fans old and young have something to shout about, I hope as do most that we have the ability to keep Jim, we must all remember how proud he was when he got the Job , you can tell it means a lot to him. so fingers crossed its all rubbish.
You’ll be able to read in Saturday’s program just how much the Club means to Jim.
