To assist getting any surface water off the pitch can any supporter supply (or know somebody who can) pieces of sponge.
Speak to Clarkey. His Mum’s business, The Cake Den, sponsored our game last Sunday. I’m sure she can rustle up some sponge
Eli, why not get the fork out!
When I win the lottery I will buy us one of these;

The Waterhog Junior hand pushed devices are around £700. The sit on motor versions like those used at the top cricket grounds are nearer £15k!
£700 might be an achievable figure for some fundraising event, the reality being if it allows you to stage fixtures on schedule it probably saves a few hundred pounds in lost revenue each time.
Add to that the purchase of some decent lightweight rain covers for the troublesome areas.
Unfortunately at the end of the day it comes down to cash! It would be hard to get this sponsored but perhaps not impossible!
What I would say is a big well done to Eli, Mark, Chad(s), Sprucie(s) and Pete and the others who worked fantastically today to ensure the game went ahead. The pitch played extremely well as was a credit to the hard work of others. Well done.
Just add my thanks to the people who gave their time in addition to the names listed Dave Nield, Phil Flavell, Dann, Neil, Ian Stanley, Tony Waterman were all forking, sponging, spiking etc.
It was another example of how connected to this football club the supporters feel.
SPONGERS!!, you can get car loads just over the canal.
