Umpiring a Cricket match every Saturday until mid September when I am in the country and I couldn’t walk that far under ANY circumstances! But I will sponsor someone for a tenner, maybe twenty if my funds are flush enough.
WHS.
Cheers WHS I’ll put you down for a Tenner, In answer to Robbo’s thread we have about 25{ That includes you Robbo) confirmed walkers? to date, and we are in the process of sorting out the rest stops etc {Neil has kindly ? offered his back garden as a watering hole!} and the “Tunnel Top” Pub have been advised on Stock levels required!.
We will need volunteers to be at the various points on route to hand out “Liquids” and collect any wounded, and we may require transport back after the Game so If your willing to help in anyway or still fancy a stroll contact either myself or Neil
Toneee, I had never realised you had been looking at my ar… anyway there is truth to the rumour that TW and myself are going hand in hand skipping around the moors on the south west coast this next week or two. just to get our drinking arms finely tuned…
A further update as the day approaches:
Can anyone doing the walk please make themselves known to Neil or Jim at Saturday/Tuesdays match or by posting on here please.
Likewise if anyone is walking and requires a sponsorship form please see me on Saturday.
As noted above we will be setting off from town early morning saiming to be at the tunnel top pub for around 12noon for lunch. Anyone not walking is invited to join us for a pre match meal/drink if they wish.
We then aim to be at Runcorns ground in time for their official opening at 2.15pm.
As also noted elsewhere the proceeds from the walk will all go towards the new floodlights. We have set a target of £2,500 to be raised so anyone not walking but wishing to sponsor please see me at the turnstiles sat/tues and I will add you to the list.
Thanks in advance for everyones support.
I will be going to the game and can certainly help with transport home afterwards if required!
Hi Neil,
Hazza and myself will be there on the 17th mate. I have my sponsorship forms ready to take to this weekends Witton Albion U’11s Lads n Dads annual camping trip.
I shall wait until night, when all Dads are firmly leathered then I shall whip out the sponsorship form and get some much needed dosh. The site we are going to this year has an on-site brewery so it’ll be easy pickings !!!
Talking of pubs.
I noticed you only mentioned one stop during the sponsored walk. Please tell me this is an admin error ? I have been extremely happy in the fact that I’m actually getting sponsored to go on the lash… I mean, walk.
Zigga Zagga
Good luck to all you walkers, Rob, hope you make it passed the first Pub !
I will pay in my tenner at the next evening home game, good luck to you all.
