just had a visitation from Tonee who’s come up with a good fundraising idea to start of our new season.
We are scheduled to play Runcorn in a pre-season freindly as the opening game for their New Millbank Linnets Stadium on the 17th July, actual date to be confirmed, but Tonees idea was for the Dev Fund to organise a sponsored walk on the day, the finer points will be sorted in due course but Initially I would just like to judge how people many would be interested in taking part, you wouldnt have to walk the whole distance as we could have pick up points along the way, anyone up for it?
I’m not picking Tonee up ! :S
there are pubs on the way…so count me in.
Count me in jap
I’ll go for the hat trick - Chester 94 and back a few years later!
Speak to you in the week Jim re helping to organise.
Sounds like we may need to find a company willing to donate zimmer frames?
Wayne’s old fella Ron could be a pace maker ?
Can you save the shit jokes for during the season?
Are you in or out?
im up 4 it
Amys up for it and I will try to do the first couple of pubs at least
Stu
Which road does that take as there is no pavenment I dont think along alot of the Dutton road which could pose a problem if we have a few doing the walk? There are paths along the canal though but dont know where they come out in Dutton etc
I pledge £50 towards the walk.I will also try and walk some of the way.
LONG LIVE WITTON.XXX
Is that the “temperance” route Neil ?
Just a quick up-date on the Sponsored Walk, which subject to confirmation, will take place on the 17 th July coinciding with Runcorns opening day of their New Stadium.
We are hoping to set off from the Memorial Hall at around 8am following a route up Winnington Hill and through Barnton, we will then join the Canal at Holehouse Lane and follow the Tow Path past Dutton coming out at The Tunnel Top Pub,well near enough for a swift half!from there its a short stroll past the Guiness factory and heading towards Runcorn.
It has been estimated at about 10 miles give or take Pub stops but we will give everyone whos not sure a {Good Beer Guide} Map, and we will have “Stewards” along the way just in case.Lets hope you dont need any Mouth to Mouth! Tonee No Tongues!
All the money raised will go toward the Playing budget for the coming Season or for any future developement at Wincham Park.
The Sponsorship Forms are now available and can be collected from JP Ceramics on Manchester Road, Wincham Park, or by Texting your address to 07760 482922 and I will post one out to you, anyone and everyone is welcome to have a go, you dont need to do the whole 10 miles, every step counts towards raising much needed funds and hopefully you’ll enjoy the fresh air!
I’m a bit late on this but here’s another to the list.
