Sporting Evening

A date for everyones diary is Thursday 25th September, the next Sporting Dinner will have PAUL MERSON ex Arsenal and England, certainly a man with a few stories to tell The club’s new Commercial Executive will hopefully be running the event.

Rob

Whats the clubs new Commercial Executive?

And do we really have to have one event planned and advertised 5 months in advance?

Andy

Maybe it takes Mers that long to sober up!

Especially being as he’s likely to still be celebrating Pompey getting to the FA Cup final… being an ex-player and all that…

Andy,

Samantha Raistrick has been employed by the Club as the new Commercial Executive, this follows Wayne’s departure, she’s got the job I understand of doing all the Club’s Marketing.

The reason for publicly announcing the date and speaker for the next dinner is that Samantha will I understand be visiting business people in town like Pritch did when I was Commercial Director, at the same time of trying to sell boards and sponsorship, she will be telling them about this event in the hope that as you and I discussed we can attract the business people to the evening.

Also people can make a note in their respective diaries in the hope that we can get a full house!!

Rob

I think Paul will be a good person to have at the dinner.

A few years ago I went to see Man Utd at home to Aston Villa, and after the game did my usual autograph hunting. Paul came out and signed some autographs and even had a brief, but friendly conversation with my dad, despite Villa having lost 6-1, if I remember correctly.

I’ve spoken to your dad, and brief is about all i could take aswell!!

Can’t we have Phil " Pinnochio " Thompson in a re-match with Frank McClintock at a Sportsmans Dinner.

Who nose?

Is this one going to be the bargain £20 hot & cold buffet, or the more traditional £30 sit down 3 course meal?
