I agree Neil. Nothing wrong with the suggestion Nick of cheaper speakers however if someone of the profile of Jan Molby can only get 40 people through the door than the characters mentioned are unlikely to raise more numbers.
Just a thought, but do we approach people like the local branch of the Liverpool Supporters Club for events like this? I know there is a Liverpool supporters coach that picks up in Northwich, so there’s 40 or 50 local liverpool fans that we could approach?! There will be similar things for United and Everton fans etc I am sure.
Robbo - The Everton Supporters Branch were approached when we had Dave Watson and Joe Royle - no response for either.
Maybe your "Gentlemans Evening " might be worth a try. On the basis that 1 in 3 supporters buy a programme then if say 1 in 5 attend sportsmans dinners which equals 40 odd who all bring a mate then we should get around the 90 mark which should make a profit.
When Pritch was Commercial Manager the target was local business, banks, solicitors, accountants etc. We regularly had 160 people in attendance.
The only other point I would make and I say in the nicest possible way and speaking from someone who does know something about these event’s is that whenever you arrange an event ensure that it doesn’t clash with an England match which is live on TV. The two worst nights for Sporting Dinners are Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s and I speak from an awaful lot of experience.
Eli, i’m just worried about the cleaning bill if we get any more stains on the seats. You saw what happened when we got a bit rowdy at the Jan Molby night.
We could all dress like the Ringmaster !
