That was one of the worst non-league games I have witnessed, believe me I have seen some shockers in 50 years. The pitch was awful, I felt sorry for anyone trying to play football on that surface as a result no football was on show for the paltry attendance, i can understand why so few Stafford Supporters were there, Stafford were once a proud and senior club in non league circles alas i suppose due to financial situation times have not been kind, not to be disrespectfull to the social club and inside facilities , spotless ,run professionaly ,and politely with a smile.
Sorry this in match reports section, I can’t recall a lot to say, I think there was a total of three shots on target ie heading towards the goal in the whole game, I missed one of them, the other two,one was a tame free kick by Stafford that Plant gathered quite comfortably. The other was a witton goal that an “assistant linesman” ruled out for offside, it probably ranks as one of the worst decisions any official has given in the history of football, it was abject. I am dismayed that the game was not recorded, The officials tonight were totally inept, a total disgrace to football at this level. The Evostik league has quite a high profile in non league, but tonights game was a waste of money to all the paying spectators. £10 for adult entry I don’t think so.

Awful game.

Awful pitch.

Awful ground.

Good support though  We need one of those low roofed stands at WP.

I think I actually feel sorry for Northwich having to go to Marston Road every fortnight, bangwall

:woohoo:

Two evenly matched teams, awful pitch, awful officials, we picked up a few injuries, over priced tea hut and asbestos needed in ones mouth to drink the coffee.

No keeper had to make anything that could be descibed as a save and a tenner to watch.

Positives - clean sheet, good support and we only have to go to the barren wasteland once a season!

A desperate dangerous pitch and I am sure all will wish Mr Ashton a speedy recovery from his broken ankle. Few chances for either team, pen shout for each team and the worst offside decision ever to chalk off our goal. Great support again away from home and it will be needed at home Saturday. Highlight of the night, the final whistle or the floodlights that kept popping!!!

The final whistle was the highlight of the night. One of the worst games of football I have ever seen. Ref was useless. Pitch terrible. Just one of those nights I suppose.

Really poor game last night. I think it would be 0-0 if they were still playing now! Bad decision from the liner robbed us but a point away from home is never a bad thing and we kept a rare clean sheet. Couldn’t beleive it was £10 entry, £2 for a seat and another £1 for the car park!(don’t get any ideas mr harris!!!) No wonder the stafford fans stay away.

Agree with everything ME said awful night of football

Just been watching some kids have a kickabout on belmont field. Much more entertaining than last nights game

Positives point away from home with a clean sheet.

Negatives a forgettable game, shocking pitch and worst of all the prices (hang your heads in shame Stafford) coincidence that they play in black and white??
