Witton return to league action on Tuesday night when they travel to Stafford Rangers in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Boro’ as they are affectionately known have begun the season well especially at home where they have picked up five points from their first three games. They also progressed through to the next round of the Emirates FA Challenge Cup with victory at Grimsby Borough at the weekend. The club appointed former player Steve Burr as manager following Neil Kitching’s departure and there have been changes in playing personnel during pre season particularly with striker Dan Westwood leaving the club. Last season saw them finish in thirteenth place in the table and both league meetings between the two clubs were shared with Witton comfortably overcoming their opponents at Marston Road but, Rangers gained revenge later in the campaign by leaving Wincham Park with the points. Witton will look to continue the form which has seen them keep four clean sheets in the last five games and will also be hoping to continue the form which saw them comfortably past Bottesford Town in the cup on Saturday. A tough game is expected as both teams look to continue their good form so far. Kick off at Marston Road is 7.45pm.
