Stafford Relegated....

Manager Steve Bull was downcast after Stafford Rangers were relegated from the Blue Square Premier after Tuesday’s 4-0 defeat by York City.

Rangers were 10 points adrift when he took over in February, but they have failed to win a league game since then.

“We knew all along it was a hard task. I’m not a miracle worker, I don’t think anyone could have kept Stafford up,” Bull told BBC Radio Stoke.

“I can take it though, we now just have to be ready for next year.”

The ex-England striker added: "I had never seen the team play until I became manager. At the minute I’ve got scouts all over the place.

“I need a spine to my team, two centre backs, two midfielders and a forward.”

"The players who are here now have got five games to show me they deserve to be here next year.

I won’t be saying anything to the players yet who is staying and who will go as it will affect their confidence.”

Erm, i’m guessing the centrebacks and midfielders might be the first to go…!!

yes stafford down Droylesden to go on saturday and hopefully alty and Farsley:laugh:

Vics have done well but they have a lot of very hard games to come. They had better hope that Weymouth, Farsley and Halifax keep losing because I cannot see them getting more than 3 or 4 points from these last games.

Vics are doing well because the owners are investing large amounts of money to keep them up, the other teams around them aren’t.

If it wasn’t already trademarked, Encia should be renamed Viagra, in my honest opinion.

From BBC Sport;

Droylsden relegation is confirmed

Droylsden have been relegated from the Blue Square Premier - despite winning 2-1 at Farsley Celtic on Tuesday.

The result left the Bloods with 22 points from 41 games - 15 points from safety, with five games remaining.

But Weymouth and Altrincham - who both have 37 points and are 20th and 21st respectively - still have to play each other, on the final day of the season.

And whatever that result, at least one of those clubs will reach the 38-point mark, beyond Droylsden’s reach.

Droylsden can only reach a maximum of 37 points if they win all five remaining games.

They join fellow strugglers Stafford, who were relegated on Tuesday after losing 4-0 at home to York.

In similar circumstances in 2004, Wycombe manager Tony Adams did not realise his club had already been relegated, as he believed they could stay up if they won their remaining games - but some of their relegation rivals still had to play each other.

i think definately alty will join the already doomed duo of stafford and droylsden and Halifax will probably be the last to join them. id love to be playin VICS and ALTY tho next year

AS I have said, Vics have a very hard run in, they are by no means safe yet.

Vics have to play Stevenage, Torquay and Cambridge, (all after a play off spot). The only game they look remotley like winning is against Grays, I think we should go en bloc and cheer like hell for Grays!!!

Its going to be interesting to see who gets in the Blue Square North - If Stafford, Droylesden, Alty and NOrthwich or Farsley get relegated who will go into Blue Square South? By rights all of the above would go into the BSN - but Northwich and Stafford are the most southerly so would they go into BSS or would the league re-distribute the teams?

Please can I have my dream, Witton in the same league as the Arabs? It’s all I ask from football, couldn’t give a monkey’s for the Premier League or the so-called England team (led again by a foriegner). One last push lads, PLEASE!!!
