Witton travel to Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday afternoon in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Three crucial points in midweek at home to Hednesford Town have propelled Albion upto eighth in the table and they will be looking to build on that against Celtic, in what will be a tough encounter.

The Blues have begun well following their relegation from the Premier Division at the end of last season but Albion have performed well at Bower Fold in the past, winning on two of their three previous visits.

The last meeting between the two was back in February 2022 at Wincham Park which ended in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

The last encounter at Bower Fold saw the two sides play out an entertaining 2-2 draw, Callum Saunders brace securing a point for the Albion.

A tough game lies ahead for both teams and victory for Witton will see them leap above their opponents in the table.

Two current players in the Albion squad have also featured for Stalybridge in Oli Roberts and striker Connor Hughes so, they’ll be looking to get the better of their former employers.

Kick off at Bower Fold is 3pm.

Well that didn’t go to plan, caught cold Bridge ripped us apart after a cagey opening quick breaks with pace and power and good finishes.

Witton were strangely quiet and didn’t create much maybe could have scored one. Bridge will be my favourites to go up based on that.

We need a full and fit squad back asap lost Koral to a hamstring after 30 mins, no Martin, Hughes or Kennerley and Fogerty on the bench? UTA

Not a lot to say about this game except 4 quality goals from stalybridge but we never really got started it’s early days but we do need to start picking up points if we need to get in playoffs I still think we need a hard man centre midfield and once again more injuries to key players that doesn’t help

Conceding far to many goals. Only Hednesford have conceded more.
