Stalybridge Celtic vs Witton Albion.

Following their disappointing exit from the Buildbase FA Challenge Trophy last weekend, Witton look to pick up league points when they travel to Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides sit four places and three points apart in the table going into the weekend fixture, with victory giving the opportunity for Albion to join their hosts on level points but it’s another vital game for both teams.

Callum Saunders continued his recent goalscoring form in the Trophy defeat and stands one goal away from equalling a club record for league goals in successive games.

Another boost in midweek ahead of the game, has been the extension of midfielder Nathan Okome’s loan spell from Chorley for a further month as he’s made an impact in his time with the club.

Witton have only managed two away wins in the league this season, at Morpeth Town and Whitby Town respectively whilst Stalybridge’s home form has been mixed with five wins and three defeats so far.

In fact, Celtic are one of only two sides not to have drawn a league game so far this season, leaders Matlock Town being the others although Stalybridge have lost more league games than they have won.

Striker Marcus Dackers currently on loan from League Two Salford City, is Celtic’s leading scorer with seven goals and former Albion striker Scott Bakkor has netted four times although he hasn’t been a regular feature in the team in recent weeks.

Witton have won on both of their previous two league visits to Bower Fold and didn’t concede on either occasion, winning 5-0 and 2-0 respectively so they will be looking to continue that run this time around but another difficult game can be expected.

Kick off at Bower Fold is 3pm.

Tough task on the road but we can do it for sure. I’d go with in form players and like to see

Hall
Nugent, Sutton, Wardle, Baldwin
Jebrin, Okome, Lawrie, Foley
Hopley, Saunders

Could argue for Lingouba for Lawrie but he just isn’t playng that well and doesn’t look fit to me. Good luck lads. UTA
