Hey Mona, not a bad effort even though you did not want to be critical of the chairman! Hate to think what you would be like when you are criticising.
You are completely out of order.
As I stated elsewhere, leave the board to decide the outcome. But for the current board, the last supporter-driven campaign nearly did for us and we haven’t yet recovered from that.
Eddie as I see it this is a Forum to express an opinion I’m just expressing mine.I think in the run of things this forum is just banter so as such will not influence things that much anyway. The Chairman and the board run the club and they will make the decision as you quite rightly say. They do need to know how we fans feel though and there are 2 big issues at the moment
The immediate future of the club be it at Wincham Park or (on some other ground with our Financial future secured).Hard decisions need to be made and a lot sooner rather than later I don’t envy Mark and the board in doing this. I think this goes into a bigger issue regarding the decline of senior soccer in the town but I think we have the opportunity to lead the way over this with the position we are in thanks to good financial management in the present and the past and Mark has played a part in this.
The playing side which I think its fair to say has been a big under acheievement for the last 2 seasons and has bordered on the farcical this season.
Gary Finlay is a decent enough lad who I believe works hard. He has good contacts and I think some coaching ability. From what I can see both on and off the field though, he seems to be not quite so good on the man management and tactical side. A football managers job is not an easy one and I’m sure Gary could contribute a lot but not as a number one. I think for his and our sakes its time to move on and maybe look at a number two job with a conference or northern conference club.
I guess I’ll upset you again Eddie with this but I do respect you and all other Wittoners opinions even my mates Eli and WHS.I do feel we need to act this close season if we are to continue as a club at a reasonable level!
Absolutely agree. Express your opinion. But my personal opinion is that personal attacks on club officials are counter-productive. The sort of witch-hunt that led to our previous chairman telling us to get stuffed based on a forum-driven hate campaign.
And, you changed your tack slighty. I do agree with points 1 and 2, but not with your previous post which heavily criticised the very hard working chairman and board.
Any way, end of, it seems whatever opinion I post on here it seems to get someones back up. That’s not sitting on the fence is it Eli?
But we have got to accept that we are no longer a BIG club ! Man City thought they were a big club for years and years and it has taken someone with massive amounts of money to lift them out of the doldrums.
We are down where we are not just because of the manager,we are operating in uncertain times for a lot of people and business’s. We got it wrong last time we moved and it is crucial that if we do move again we get it right.
Maybe GF needs a number two who does the hands round the shoulders bit with the players, I don’t know what to think anymore really. I know we had no automatic right to get back up this season but I certainly thought we would, there was hope at least to secure a play-off place after we beat Mickelover but the results after that begger belief really!!
