It has been announced this afternoon that former Witton Albion winger Steve Adams has sadly passed away following a long illness, at the age of 57. Born in Sheffield, he played for a number of Nonleague clubs around the Conference and the Northern Premier League. He joined Witton in 1992/93 from Kettering Town after beginning his career with Worksop Town. He also featured for Boston United, Scarborough, Doncaster Rovers, Gateshead, Matlock Town, Macclesfield Town & Denaby United. He was also a Community Coach in Sheffield and had previously run Youth Teams in the city. It has been revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2012.

Steve Adams funeral will take place on Monday, 27th March - 1.15pm at Grenoside Crematorium, Sheffield and then to the 1867 Suite at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough ground.
