Stockport Town v. Witton Albion(PSF)

Witton travel to North West Counties side Stockport Town in their latest pre season friendly on Monday night in a game which sees the Lions complete their preparations ahead of the new season.

Witton picked up their first win in pre season on Saturday beating Winsford Town 11-0 but the scoreline wasn’t important, just getting minutes into the squad was more beneficial.

Jon Macken’s squad is coming together nicely with new additions and players returning to the club.

Witton will be looking to continue their preparations ahead of the new campaign but Stockport Town will pose different questions for them.

Kick of at Stockport Sports Village is 7.30pm.

Witton are next in action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Lancaster City to the U Lock It Stadium with a 3pm kick off.

Not a great display, wasteful in possession and Stockport were quicker and more aggressive than us.

We are still a few signings short to get to last season’s level, a midfielder, striker, left back and probably another centre back required imo.

Hopefully Jon and the team have this in hand. UTA

I haven’t been to any of the friendlies so maybe I shouldn’t comment, but I was expecting a few more signings.
