HEY HO!!!
Screamer appaz.
3 - 3 F.T.
Crikey I expected to score 3 today but not concede 3 pritch and co have a bit of work to do to get the defence back on track, can he do it without a signing or two ? You can look at 2 ways 3 games unbeaten or 6 points dropped in 3 games !
Disappointing but fair result unfortunately. We didn’t really get going today, but scoring 3 goals away from home, and going 3-2 up in the dying minutes should be enough to win you the game.
Very lack lustre and other than the last 20 mins we didnt play like we know we can, add to that an inept and weak referee (who didnt cost us the game) and the recipe for a slip up was there. Credit to SPS they played well and should have no issues with relegation on that performance!
Fantastic travelling support today easily half the crowd was from Witton, but ultimately came home frustrated.

Considering we were cold at the beginning, and for a period in the 2nd half, I was happy with the point. On the plus side, kept going really well for the whole game, our goals were all excellent and we coped reasonably with a bigger side’s physicality and height. BUT…still can’t mark up at the back and any time SPS swept forward I was worried. To be fair, they didn’t look near bottom, but we didn’t look near top. Tucky needs to take his chances first time, not always go for the ‘set up touch’, but you can’t fault his effort. I don’t like to criticise players by name but two of today’s back four struggle at this level and we really need to get a new defender in soon, finances permitting. Olly James was a strong presence today, and most of the side did ok, but far too many passes straight to the opposition just outside their own box led to panic stations - how about a few more shots outside the area, it’s a safer option, defence-wise!!
Simmo put it nicely on Twitter: we only led for about 60 seconds in the whole match so cant complain with a draw. Sounds like we battled though and I cant imagine any team in the league will be looking forward to playing us.
We had ‘bad results’ last year eg Cammel Laird and it didn’t end up too bad in the end!!!
To have a bad day at the office, and still come away with a point…it’s not exactly a disaster.
Need to tighten up before Worksop come to town though!
Funny old game yesterday, we just didn’t seem to get going. They looked a better side than their league position suggests and a draw probably a fair result, 3 great goals by us especially the last one. Thought we could have shut up shop better with only a minute or two to go but hey ho a point better than nothing! Do agree that we will need to tighten up in the forthcoming matches against the better sides though. Nice little set up at Stocksbrdige and they seem to be a club that play within their means like us.
Don’t let Mookie hear you say that… He’ll be writing more terrible Josh Hancock songs!
Might take him more than half an hour! :goal SBL
