Can now confirm that we have a Home fixture for the first fundraiser of the new season on Saturday 15th August, calling it a"Summer Ball" but a lot less formal no black tie (Unless you want to?)and the ticket price will be cheaper at only £15 each. The Band is the superb Cheeky Monkey,(for their song list go to the web site cheekymusic,or Ive got a copy if needed) Pete is providing the Hot and Cold Buffet, This is the first of several social events lined up to raise money for the Developement Fund so your support is vital,Tickets now available, How many do you want?
any chance of the Cheeky Girls?
Nah,past their sell by date now .
I have always been totally supportive of any fund-raising activities connected to OUR football club, I am a little concerned about this one to be honest.
The date clashes with the start of the new season and my main worry is that should the team and supporters face a long journey for the first fixture, it would surely affect the numbers attending the function in the evening.
I can see where your coming from Wheels, but the dates arent picked out of a hat,the Venue, the band, the availability of the organisers, and more importantly, having enough time to promote and arrange the night all have to be taken into consideration. If we were to wait for the fixture list the chances are that any of the aforementioned would not be available and therefore we may well miss out on the opportunity to raise funds for August. We have set out to hold a fundraising event for every month of the coming season more details will follow soon, and unfortunately some may clash with fixtures,Keep your fingers crossed, and I wouldnt worry to much about players getting back in time to support fund raising either!
There is a worry of us being away to somewhere like Lincoln or Stamford though… Any fans travelling would have little or no chance of making it back for the Ball?
If the worst happens and we do have a long journey on the opening day, could we not “arrange” for the bar to be open for longer… to allow those who would arrive late, to not miss out…
With Runcorn Linnets already knowing that they are at ‘home’ on Saturday 8 August and away on 15 August - it should be safe to assume that Witton will be at home on 15 August. Perhaps Jeff/Pete should make sure by requesting a home game that day (I’m sure they’ve done so already).

My original posting was by no means intended to be a criticism just an observation. I appreciate that functions take a lot of organizing and plans have to be put in place in plenty of time.
Good News for all! We have a Home fixture on the opening Saturday of our new season, and the “Summer Ball” Tickets are available, this is the first of many so lets get behind the club help raise some much needed cash and show everyone how “Wittoners like to Party!”

Sod’s law!!
Now that all the “Wittoners” will be going to Spalding on the 15th it looks like we will have to cancel the Summer Ball, and my appologies to the other two people who asked for tickets!
