Just wanted to say thanks and congratulations to everyone at the Supporters Team for finishing their first ever season of competitive football. Has been a real roller-coaster since i first floated the idea back in February, and at the time i was amazed by how positive everyone’s response was.

It was a real shame to finish the season with a defeat, but there have been alot of positives to take from the last few months. We’ve played with Jim Vince, had Mike Moseley bagging a hat-trick, been flogged up and down hills by Jim and Nigel, and had a friendly against Dads and Coaches of the Under 9’s Team. And who can forget Yox’s Platoon dive?! From my point of view, it’s made it all worthwhile.

So again i’d just like to thank everyone who has donned the famous red and white during this league season;

Hope i haven’t missed anyone off?!

It will be good to get everyoen together when we sponsor the Eastwood game on Sat 1st Sept. We will also be making the presentation for our Player Of The Season. I have scrapped Goal Of The Season, as there was only ever going to be one winner… :wink:

I need confirmed numbers for the match sponsorship asap, so catch me at Marine tomorrow, or STamford on Saturday.

A couple more thank you’s to add:

Des - for getting the kit together for us.
Phil Carter - For being there without fail and giving guidance and goalkeeping backup when needed.
Grazzer - for his encouragement and for subjecting us to a painful defeat!!

We’ve got a new season starting Sunday so lets all look forward to a clean slate and I genuinely do believe we have a good chance of competing for the title this time around.

I think that Robbo deserves the biggest thanks.
Without the hard work that he’s done behind the scenes none of this would have been possible. The administration is the dull part of running a team and he has done that pretty much all season without whinging (too much!). Put that with the Moseley appearance and the training with JV and Nige and I think it’s safe to say he’s done an excellent job.

Well done to all concerned, think that the club as a whole deserves a mention for the use of the pitch/goals at the back, kit etc.
Having not actually played for the team its great to get a mention and will continue to offer support as and when I can.
Also I’ll try to get some more friendlies organised, preferably pre match on a Saturday, should be able to get a rematch against the Dads after such a "painful defeat" ;D and one against my new Sunday Team from Woodley.
