U don’t get many MM in football nowadays - Good luck.
Maybe not the right place to say it but it just shows what a good manager JV is .

All the best Mike, a pity ur leavin! U wer gr8 playin for us an i enjoyed watchin ya play. good luck in the future
Mike, when your mum said her farewells last Saturday then we knew in our heads that you were off to pastures new, in all our hearts though we hoped that you might just do "A Pritch".
I really thought that over the next couple of seasons two fantastic and long standing Witton records would be broken, ie Pritch passing Alf Ashley’s 604 appearances and your goodself knocking Trevor Ogden’s 178 goals off the top of our all time scorers slot.
Sadly now the latter will not happen - no Robbo the 6 a side matches don’t count but hey what a great idea for Mike to again play in the No 9 shirt.
Mike, you’ve paid me the greatest ever complement and I very much thank you for so doing. However I must respond by saying that you have also behaved impecably ever since I first registered you back in the summer of 2001. A tremendous signing we all though at the time, I know Liam Watson was very reluctant to let you leave Runcorn but Liam being the man he was realised that you deserved regular matches and as the Linnets had a surplus of strikers back then, then all I can say is Thank you Liam.
I understand the Northwich Guardian are going to do a substantial piece on you in the forthcoming issue and really it’s fully merited.
All the very best to not only you Mike but all your family who over the years have certainly become the very best of adopted Wittoners.
Mike,
There isn’t much I can add to what has already been posted here. However, I’d just like to add my thanks for everything you’ve done for Witton.
I can remember a few years ago when you almost carried the team single-handed, if you hadn’t scored so many goals we’d have been in trouble! In all the time you’ve been here, you’ve put your heart and soul into Witton, your enthusiasm for the team, and your rapport with the fans, have made you a true legend. You’ve cared about Witton, and it has showed.
I for one am very sorry to hear that you’re leaving, but rest assured there’ll always be a place in our hearts for you at Witton - and a place behing the goal if you want! Best of luck to you with whatever you do next.
All the best, Mike - we’ll miss you!
cheers mike for every goal you have ever scored for the albion. not really sure why it shows what a good manager j.v is by letting you go, i couldnt understand why you werent startin towards the end of the season when adam was poor. but there again couldnt see why farq was in the squd, he wouldnt get in our 5-a-side team. :-
All the Best Mike ! Thanks for the Goals ! Keep smiling ;D Good Luck !
Watching MM has been a highlight in a few seasons where there has been little to warm the heart. This guy always played with hopes of witton fans on his shoulders and never shirked the responsibility or let those hopes wear him down.
Good luck for the future wherever that may be… and Thank you!
Just to put the record straight. MM hasn’t been offered a new contract for next season but has been asked to stay at the club on non-contract terms.
MM has decided that he needs a fresh challenge elsewhere and I think the decision by MM, for MM, is the correct one.
GE
GE, I think you’re right - the lack of a contract offer probably made Mike’s mind up for him and as hard as it must have been (especially given our affection for him) you can understand the position.
That said we are all big boys here and I hope we have left the door open - there is a chance that Mike may not want to travel far to play football due to his job and family life and therefore if he wanted to continue to play for us then we should I hope all be big enough to keep the opportunity alive. If Griff has gone to BPA then we have pratically no strikers at the club and in light of this we would in my opinion benefit from the skill and experience of a lad that is 28 and has scored 147 goals for us!
I for one would dearly love to see the olive branch offered and a one year deal reached if Mike and Jim can see there way to agreeing such a thing. Maybe there is a bit of hurt/pride on show here but from a selfish perspective seeing Moseley and Connors line-up in the spine of our team next year would be far from a bad thing. We all understand that the manager will be looking to build for the future, however with the transient nature of non-league football you have to hold on to assets like Mike and Brian in my opinion as their commitment to club means they put 100% in where others around them come and go.
Maybe we let Mike go too quickly given the events of the last week - I don’t know! Maybe Jim will be taking advantage of Robbie Fowlers’s Anfield departure - ok maybe not.
Just thoughts!
Robbie Fowler and the return of Dave Anane to the Witton team puts a different interpretation to the words "line up" :o :o
Allegedly :o LOL
Maybe Mike will do a ‘Fowler’ and someday return to the club he loves. Or to be more specific, maybe he will do a ‘Rose’.
Just for the sake of it one last time
super super mike
super super mike
super mikael mossley
Where’s Stu??
Mikael Moseley???
MICHAEL MOSELEY.
damn those pesky kids 8)
Just like to say all the best Mike - its been a pleasure having you at the club -
I remember the Thursday night when you walked out the managers room on the eve of the season and Eddie Bishop told me you were the new signing and you’d get a hatrick on Saturday! He wasn’t quite right but you’ve certainly out performed all other strikers I’ve watched for the Albion and I remember many of your goals very fondly, and some real belters and crucial goals during pretty tough times for the club.
Best of luck to you and all the best to your family - I’ll miss speaking to them as well!
it will be nice to see Mike in a Witton shirt again at some point. Nudge nudge, Wink Wink :-X
If only there was a way…
I’ll put my thinking cap on… There must be another team round here somewhere that wears red and white stripes??[br]Posted on: June 04, 2007, 02:16:16 PM
If anybody wishes to see Super Mike in action one last time, then he will be down for the Supporters Team game at 2.30pm this Sunday.
Bradford Park Avenue began their Pre season preparations with a 1-1 draw at the Horsfall Stadium against Scottish Premier League newcomers, Gretna.
The Scottish side took the lead only for the Unibond First Division North club to equalise, through former Albion favourite Super Michael Moseley.
The Yorkshire side went into the game with a squad made up of mostly ex Witton players, only Kevin Sanasy (holiday) and Griff Jones (injured) not taking part.
Hate to admit it Wheels but BPA scored 1st, it was Gretna who had to catch up :o
Got this from their local online paper:
[sup]Gretna draw level after Connors opener

An entertaining encounter that included a couple of feisty moments ended in a 1-1 draw as Bradford Park Avenue held Scottish Premier League newcomers Gretna at Horsfall Stadium.
It was Avenue, in the opening friendly of their centenary season, who drew first blood against the SPL side. A long-range shot from new signing Steve Connors was helped past Gretna keeper Greg Fleming by a flick on from Mike Mosley. By half-time the Scottish visitors were on level terms following a quickly-taken free-kick just before the half hour. Avenue keeper Jon Worsnop was caught out and Paddy McCabe rounded him before firing in a shot over covering defender Matt Daly.
Former Bantams keeper Worsnop made a very good save early in the second half before Liam Flynn sent a lob high over the target for the home side. Worsnop made a comfortable stop to deny McCabe before turning a dangerous back-heeled effort from Eric Partlu for a corner.
