Thankyou and Farewell.

Fellow Wittoners.

After 6 great seasons at Witton I am finally packing my Shinpads and
Boots for pastures new.

Although a massive part of me would of loved to see out my career at
Witton (Like my good friend Pritch) it’s not gonna be possible.

I feel I am leaving the best Witton team I have played in over the
years and I am anticipating some exciting times ahead for you all. The
crop of young players you have there will only improve and with a
little bit more experience they will hopefully take Witton to the conference
North and beyond.

The support from the fans this season has been 2nd to none, and I am
just sorry you weren’t rewarded with the promotion you so badly craved.

There have been some great days out over the years from the Gretna
trips to Stamford this year and long may they continue.
The support end enthusiasm on these days has been a pleasure to be involved with.
YOU the supporters are the main reason why WAFC is such a great football club to be involved with.

So moving on…

I would just like to Thank everyone at the club for the tremendous
support they have given me in my time at WAFC and a special mention to
the following people who have all been a credit to WAFC in my time at
the club.

Phil Chad - Top man, No 1 Witton fan for me, and a true gentleman.

Cyril - for being Cyril and for them sharp suites he wears on match
days.

Pete Riley - For all the laughs he’s given me when he’s fell asleep
drunk on the way home from away games.

Dezzie - For all his hard work he puts in, preparing the kit, changing
rooms, etc

Graeme Edgeley - For honouring everything we have ever agreed, respect.

The Chairman - For keeping me at the club and for the great job he’s
done over the years, oh yeh and for trying to sell me twice.

The Groundstaff - For maintaining the quality of pitch and stadium.

Eddie Bishop - For signing me. (Well done Eddie)

Benny Phillips - For his guidance and his commitment to improving
players.

And finally the WAFC supporters and anyone ive missed who have been
really good to me, you have given me great support whilst playing for
the albion and I have loved every minute of it, and what I can say is
there’s no better feeling than scoring on a saturday with 3 points in the bag for the albion.

I leave Witton as a player and now as a fan along with my family who
have enjoyed supporting myself and Witton over the past 6 years.

I wish the club all the best of luck in the coming seasons and will be
down to support the lads as often as I can. (Probably with the family in the car behind)

Look forward to seeing you all soon.

COME ON D ALBION.

Mike.

Out for 147.

PS … (Keep getting behind the lads, they DO value your support, and it makes a massive difference)

Cheers Mike. It’s been brilliant watching you celebrate every goal like it’s the winner in the FA Cup final! Seeing you nearly get a 2nd Yellow against Vics this year for your celebration topped it all!

I don’t think there is a single Witton fan who hasn’t appreciated how much your goals have helped this football club. You have been a true Witton LEGEND.

Let us know where you end up and we’ll come and cheer you on one week when Witton don’t have a game.

I can only echo what Robbo has said. I have only been a Wittoner a fraction of the time some of the other lads have, but I know a legend when I see one. I have never seen a player who seems to enjoy having the p1ss taken out of him as much as you ;D

The only problem is Mike, nobody else at Witton fits the white Pele song. We’ll have to retire it now…

All the best Super Mike.

It is the mark of a legend to announce this type of thing on a fan’s forum, and in the eyes of all true Witton fans, MM is one such legend.

The relationship he has had with this club is another great reason for being a fan.

When we go through those turnstiles it is to support Witton, and Mike Moseley has made that one of the easiest things to do.

I started watching Witton back in the HFS days, and the glory days of Wembley. At the time Karl Thomas was the marksman to adore, but Mike…you filled his boots well!

I wish you the very best of luck for the future. Thanks for memories.

Good luck Mikey,
All the best for your new venture.
You have been a model patient player and it has been a priviledge looking after you medically. You,as a good person and a fantastic player, will be missed by all of us at Witton big time.
Sorry to see you go bud.

Good luck
From
The Doc and the medical team.

Mike, all of us at the Supporter’s Team have a proposal for you.

One last outing in the Witton Albion number 9 shirt - turn out for us 1 Sunday afternoon, it’s only a half hour game. You can wear the famous Red and White with 9 on the back, and it can be you little ‘thank you’ to the boys who have been cheering you on.

You also said on the way home from Gateshead you wanted to go out for a beer with us, so after the game we’ll all head out for a Sunday curry and a few bevvies.

We will await your response with baited breath!

May i ask the reason that Moseley is leaving ? is it his choice or has he been released???

As you may need another forward now We have released Steve Foster from Telford? i wonder how that would go down if he signed for you?

Cheers

Bally

Foster isn’t good enough to play for us.[br]Posted on: May 11, 2007, 01:28:05 PM
Good Luck Mike.

As everyone else has said A WITTON LEGEND.

It would be good to see you behind the goal with us next season, if you can make it to any games.

Mike

You have brought me out of posting retirement!

I never thought I’d see the day you left Witton - I thought you’d turn out like Pritch!!

All the best for you and your family in the future.

Debbie

Great mail Mike - thanks for everything you’ve done - but you didn’t say why you are leaving?

6 years at a non-league club is immense. Thanks for the memories Mike.

Mike Moseley is a legend and forever will be in my eyes! good luck mike you deserve it! has been a pleasure watching you and like many have said already your fantastic celebrations! best of luck!

i joined witton nearly 2 years ago i think, an my first training session i got a swift elbow to the face while jumping for a header it was from this tall blonde hair lad who never even apologised, i hated him an for nearly 2 weeks i tried my hardest to mark him an when i’d get my chance oh i’d make sure he felt it, but that chance never came he was just to sharpe. i used to drive home with the likes of danny byrne an anton an for that half hour i’d slate him, it happened to be Micky M and how how wrong was i.
i use to face sitting him in the changes those days an have never swapped my seat, an when you heard the team sheet get read out you knew if his name was on the number 9 shirt u had a 99% chance of winning today (the other one percent depended on whether pritch was going to do back headers), the inspiration he gives to the team is second to none an i dont mean by team talks but just his presence, when i came i was only 19 an the first thing i knew about witton was how great this striker was and that he’d been the top goal scorer for so many years, well what an understatement the way he played an how easily he found the net was unbelievable, his running, his link up play, and most of all his heart was always in it, an for me i’d rather have 11 players who gave there all then some these days that dnt care (theres gettin to many of them).
well i bet every manager in the unibond and in conference north will be smiling as from today to know that a legend has been released an is on a free an he’s still only 28. honestly thought you’d be here for life, as i know you’d have loved too! dont just speak from myself but from the whole team at witton that we will miss you as a player an as just being you. keep it real an dont get all big time on me cause you’ll be in next seasons programmes as a legend. and im sure everyone will miss your mum, dad, sarah, ella and little adam.
well all the best were ever u end up an im pretty sure ill speak to u soon.

GUTTED!

mike you were the best striker we have since karl thomas. all the best and thanks for everything.

GOOD LUCK MIKE, WISH U ALL THE BEST IN THE FUTURE

a sad day…i’m gutted

Thanks for the memories and unbelievable amount of goals.

You could tell how much witton meant to you, always played with a smile and with pride.

Good luck for the future Mike and thanks for the great times

Super, super Mike
super, super Mike
super super mike
super michael moseley

I have been a witton fan for years but only started coming back to WP about four years ago, after a really good game (think you had two) the wife and my little lad went for some scran at the black dog, me and my lad were discussing this striker mike moseley when a bloke turned round and said thats our kid! had a chat with your brother about you and that was that, you have been my lads Idol ever since, forget liverpool and Utd etc he is a wittoner his room is red and white and at the end of his bed is a photo of you and him when he was a mascot, its hard getting a young lad to support a team at wittons level when all his mates go to watch bigger teams, so I would like to thank you for inspiring my son to be the fan he is, you will be missed by us all at Witton the words legend are often overused, not in this case

Good luck Mike

Super super Mike etc ;D

Mike, you are an tremendous credit to yourself and to the game, a true gentleman.

It is the nature of football that fans see players come and go and the reality is that very few players make such an impact on a team that they get talked about for years afterwards - you will forever be a legend in the eyes of any Wittoner. I hope to be on the terraces with my kids in 10 years time telling them all about the amazing number 9 that used to play for us - Super Mike Moseley!

You can tell by the affection from every fan has for you what you have meant to the club and I hope we see you at Wincham Park as often as you can get there. My personal memory that will stick with me forever comes right at the end of your time with the club, your goal and celebration against Matlock said everything about who Mike Moseley is as a man! When we came on to the pitch after the match, myself and a few of the other lads were only heading towards one person to congratulate! The celebratory hugs and the look on your face summed everything up.

I am gutted you will not be with us next year and believe without any doubt that we are losers. As the lads have said a delegation of us will be there to watch you play when we get a free Saturday or midweek game. Irrespective of where you end up that club will get themselves on hell of a centre forward - I am not sure how we replace you. I don’t think we should retire the ‘white Pele’ song, I think it should be sung on the terrace for years to come (they still sing for Cantona at OT)!

All the best Mike to you and your family and thank you for every time you pulled on the red and white shirt!

Rabbit (aka Simon) and the extended Powell family ;D

PS. Connors, well done for an excellent posting on here, we have a vacancy for the next Witton legend available, the position is there to be had it you want to step up to the plate. Like Mike you play football from the heart, don’t ever forget that. Mike was a fantastic role model for everyone at the club, we need someone to fill his boots!

All the best at Bradford Mike, will have a bet that you finish the leagues top scorer next season

In my opinion A big mistake in letting mike go, but I can understand his reasons why he has decided he must,
its a fact of life that all football managers have to make decisions, some of which the fans may disagree with, I totally disagree with this decision Mike is a Wittoner. A confident Mike will score goals where ever he goes. Thanks Mike all the best to you and your smashing family.
