Out walking along the canal yesterday passing between the stadiums of the town could’nt help thinking the time is surely comimg when both teams shared one stadium. With less than 1% of the population of Northwich watching either team surely it must happen if both teams are to survive ? Northwich stadium is by far the best equipped and if semi-professional football is to continue in the years ahead then it makes sense ?
Of we go again, for me it is much better for Witton to sit tight now, wait for the invetiable car crash over the canal and then we pick up the pieces and grow as the senior club, The VS is really too big and soulless for our level of non league ( it could work but needs major changes ) yes it could support Conference Premier but the town, potential gates / interest cannot, so in summary keep our house in order, let vics go bust, and look to prosper out of there demise, then look at a promotion or 2 and establish ourselves at a good level and compete within our means, do not go chasing a pipe dream , thats my plan others may want to become Northwich United well I hate both parts of that name so not for me ! one team in the town for sure and a catchy name for you -
WITTON ALBION - Sounds great doesnt it
What about FC Witton Albion of Northwich? - when the others have gone bust that is - would make us the Town team and maintain our history. - As for groundshare same old arguments - who would own/run it and the bars etc. Vics have nothing at all to offer apart from yet another mountain of debt.
Why would Witton combine with Vics? they have no money, no ground and no hope. What they do have is a mountain of debt.

WHS " they have no money, no ground and no hope. What they do have is a mountain of debt "
Any business man will tell u that is the best time to move in - become the landlords - we don’t have to take their debt on ! You know it makes sense WHS - give the future of football in Northwich some hope for future generations ! When u were a kid 65 years ago what was the state of local football and now look at it and envisage what it will be like in another 65 years !
If all the so called WITTONERS turned up we would manage
NO WAY WILL WE SHARE WITH THEM
wish you would help us instead of watch television on match days
" If all the so called WITTONERS turned up we would manage "
Like your sentiments Len ! But…
Put an appeal out in the press etc and see what kind of replies you get ?
Eli you are on a big wind up sir.
They have had it, there will be no marina, Maccy D’s, multiplex cinema over there…only tumbleweed, green tumbleweed
No Marina ,no Howard .
Seems that I am not alone - Letter In the Northvic G this week from " Big Wittoner " proposing both clubs join up and share a ground at Moss farm !
Is this the first of the summer whines?
Eli big wittoner says join up and ground share ? maybe but then we still have witton albion and im ok ish with that, however they have no assetts to bring to the party ? unless the council provide it all and we share rental costs at a low rate that is substainable ? and witton have £2-3 million in the bank then im ok with that, the council are unlikely to invest however and vics dont have a pot to pee in so could not jointly invest in a shared stadium so a pipe dream in reality, so back to my plan A vics go bust, Witton go on and thrive, everbody is happy except vics fans but then who cares
Your thinking about it CJ ! You will be discussing it tonight at the game ?
I’m with CJ, we don’t need Vics, just for them to go “BUST” and they will sooner or later and "sooner"looks a lot more likely.
WHS.
I think that everyone is forgetting that even if Vics do go bust, they wont cease to exist. They will re-form and attempt to make their way back up the leagues.
If they are successful in that, then it’s possible the town could get behind them.
We just need to concentrate on Witton. We’ll worry about them if and when we need to.
Good point Robbo about them re-forming but the question is “Where”? Certainly not at the Marston Arena or whatever it is called now, they cannot afford it now and would certainly not be able to afford it in the North West Counties or wherever they end up.
WHS.
V**s may be cesspit of a club but they have a rich heritage almost as rich as our Witton.I cerainly wouldn’t want them to go under. It is not their supporters fault that they in dire straits. It is the shysters who have owned the club and incompetant boards that ran it.I bet our esteemed Mr. chairman could turn their fortunes around but we don’t that.God forbid.
Hail, hail Witton and who support it.xx
