why not have a collection for the next couple of home games to give something to the legend pritch when he makes his 700th appearance in the albion colours. let us show the man how much we have apprecited his efforts and dedication over the years. anyone up for it?
Pensioner though I now am, count me in for a tenner.

It’s a great idea guys but to be honest the big man would probably not want it at this stage, he hates a fuss being made with regards to these milestones. I’ve spoken to him about this before and his only desire is to be selected in the starting 11 and give everything he can on the pitch to get us out of the division. I think for him and for that matter super Mike, their best reward would be winning promotion back to the Premier Division.
Don’t get me wrong I personally believe the big fella deserves all the plaudits and accolades that the fans want to give him but it is a measure of the man that he would prefer that he was not the focus of attention.
An interesting idea would be to put into any collection what you would have given for this or perhaps better still think of how you can give an hour of your time to help the club, the truth is he would prefer this.
We could have a whip around for some bigger shorts? Or perhaps something warm for when he is sitting on the bench?
Pritch who ?
I reckon a testimonial game when the LEGEND finally hangs up his boots would be more appropriate, involving players who have been in the team with Pritch over the years!!
Most of the players Pritch originally played with will either be dead by now or in homes for the elderly and infirm!!!

As Rabbit says, Pritch is often relucant to take any individual plaudits. I think he sometimes misses the point, in that when we as fans want to show our appreciation to him it is as much for our benefit as his. I think we are all very aware that Pritch is a one-off and we will never see another player with such loyalty to our Club (honourable mention to Mike Moseley, who is cut from a similar cloth). When Pritch bows out (possibly this summer, possibly summer 2017!!) then he will leave a massive void (in more ways than one!!). It is natural that we as fans want to do something to honour him in some way, and i have been trying to arrange something with him for a while myself. But like Rabbit says, he just doesnt want the fuss (so perhaps tackling a streaker and being national news wasnt his smartest ever move!!).
When he hangs them up he will miss playing for Witton. But i hope he realises that we will miss having him as our number 4. There have been massive changes at our Club over the last decade and a bit, but we have always been able to take some comfort in knowing that one thing always remained a constant. Pritch’s time is running out, of that there is unfortunately little doubt. I just hope that he let’s us show him just how grateful we have been to have him playing for us, and always giving 100%. We can forgive him the odd mis-placed backwards header, we can forgive him the odd Saturday night phone call where he just wants to moan! We can forgive him for painting the away dressing room pink last year, and probably making every visiting team that more determined to take 3 points away from Wincham Park!
But the fact is that for every opposition fan that shouts abuse at him for 90 minutes every Saturday, there will be 5 times as many who wish they had a player like Brian Pritchard lining up for them each week (if you dont believe me then ask a Matlock fan!).
Personally there are 2 things in recent memory that stand out for me as classic Pritch moments. The first one was against Hednesford a few seasons back when he had to go off for stiches but came back on with a Unibond beanie hat covering the head-wound! The second, and more emotive one, was after missing out on promotion after failing to score a 3rd against Frickley, just the look on his face as he asked how Telford and Burscough had finished and he began taping the nets back onto the goal posts. If i hadnt already been very aware, then that is the moment that i would have realised that Pritch felt for this Club like we do.
There are a lot of things you could say about Brian Pritchard, but i think LEGEND is certainly the most fitting.
I’ll never forget Pritch as long as the 3pts stay on my driving licence when giving him a lift back from Stamfotd ( FA Trophy ) and getting done for speeding in Kegworth !
Hi all, this is my first post so please be gentle with me. I ve been watching witton now for about 40 years , good times and bad ,good players and a few bad ones, but if loyalty hard work and dedication counts for anything ,pritch must be right up there with the best.
You won’t get anyone who will argue with your first post W.O.
Welcome to the Forum.
Lots of memories involving Pritch but surely he holds some sort of record as the only player to score a goal, give away a penalty and get sent off all in the space of two minutes!! Can’t remember who it was against but it will always stay in my memory. (Or did I just dream it?)

Surely the legend deserves a BIG club coming down to play Witton AND former players of Witton to come down to pay homage to him , when he finally decides to retire ( hopefully not this year, as world cup commitments of the players ), but a sizeable gate with a 50 / 50 split between the club and pritch ( i think it would be what he wants, by previous posts ) would be a possible idea.
" deserves a BIG club " - that rules out Liverpool then !
I think he will be more concerned about missing the BRIGG game than setting up a BIG game.
It’s a measure of the man that his focus is purely on the job in hand. Believe me when he does hang the boots up in a year or few that he will not have any choice regards the fuss that gets made about him.
As we all know Pritch is a damm loyal player to Witton,a testimonial for him would be a good idea with a big club, down to play witton,as mentioned in a previous post,Think he should be offered a position within the club,E.G perhaps on the board of directors,or director of football when he hangs up his boots.

When he does hang up his boots I suggest we get him a set of tools, variety pack of paint brushes, a few paint rollers, tins of red gloss , a new line marking machine and a jet washer. He’ll have a list of jobs already prepared that he wants to do on the ground. A measure of the man is that he cares far more about the upkeep and future of this football club than personal accolades. BUT, as said before whether he likes it or not there will be a celebration of his career at the end of his playing days. It is however far too early to talk about him hanging up his boots, he has another two seasons in him at least.
