The pies

Birtwistle meat and pot pies were reintroduced to the teahut this season at the request of numerous fans.
However recently I have had a few dissenters whose opinions ranged from “There not as good as they use to be” to “there’s not enough potato in them”.The vast majority of away supporters love them, mind you some of the fayre served up at a number of grounds that’s not too suprising !.
The tea hut is run primarily for Witton fans and all profits go back into the football club.

A choice would be nice yes but that would have to be limited due to possible wastage impacting on profitablity (Cue Neil. .veryangry ).
I appreciate that at larger attended games waiting time to be served can feel far too long. However the catering equipment we have installed is hardly comparable to a high street chippy or chain and don’t forget run by volunteers one of which used to like watching a match.
On saturday there will be a short questionare available at the teahut please fill it in and return it as soon as you can, It’s your teahut after all. If there is a petition to get rid of the old grey haired, miserable, member of staff please everyone sign it i would :hotdog.

PS i meant the one with the 70’s porno moustache not the wife. Thank god she dosen’t read this forum !

I think you’re all doing a cracking job Andy.

Only had the occasional pie, but couldn’t complain, and my lad seems to enjoy your chips!!

Queues were especially bad during the recent Families For A Fiver game though, and lessons must be learned B)

Keep up the good work!! We all appreciate it.

:clap

Not looking for thanks Robbo.
just trying to get our fans the best possible deal and the club a reasonable income source.

Yet thanks you shall get!

Good idea to do the questionnaire though.

Got to be Birty’s pies! :pie

The serving area is quite small and I don’t think that helps at busy periods. Also people trying to get through the turnstyles and through the queue isnt ideal at the start of games. I thought the idea of serving just drinks out of the door was a stroke of genius though. Keep up the great work.

A couple of us have floated the idea of using the turnstile at the other end of the ground, with the tea hut traffic being a consideration. Common opinion seems to be that it’s too far to walk from the car park.

Birtwistle pies, a institution. I can still remember going to the tea hut on the bank at the old central ground thirty years ago and having one of there meat and potato pies, think it cost 30p, fantastic

Another vote for 30p Birtwistles pies

I had my first Birties pie for nearly ten years against whitby and was looking forward to Skem for another one!! obviously the football takes priority but unfortunately ended up enjoying the pie more than the game.

I am not a meat & potato fan.

Any chance of STAKE & KIDLEY?

Hardly Athletic, I think a soggy warm cardboard pie would have been more enjoyable :silly:
I am told.

Not a birty pie fan but your burgers are top notch. Had one at fylde the other week and i thought the lad had put a peice of carpet in the bun instead of meat! oh and my lad has a hot dog at every home game and he’s a right fussy sod so they must good too. :hotdog

Living in the miserable midlands it was great to come to the Albs and order a Birtys pie. Then to be asked 'do you want peas and gravy with it love?'was the icing on the cake.

Albion Tea Hut is spot on

The tea hut is fantastic! Yes, somtimes there is a bit of a queue but if you think tactically about when to go its fine. Go 10 or 15 mins into the game, you can still get a good view of the game for the tea hut queue.
And on really good days i even get a cuddle off Sharon :woohoo:
