By my reckoning we are 6 points from safety and the knowledge that we will be playing at least at this level next season! So fantastically well done SO FAR!
We are football supporters and we have every right to dream/think of promotion with the current league position and the way we are playing.
My personal expectation has gone up from staying in the division to being optimistic about a top ten finish! I’d quantify that by looking at our results against the top 8 other clubs in the division.
P 8 W2 D2 L4
On our day we are a match for and better than most in this division BUT there are lots of clubs with far more resource (NFU/Chorley/Fylde etc) than we have but they haven’t got our supporters and they haven’t got our spirit!
So lets quietly go about our business enjoy seeing our name towards the top of the table on Sky Sports News, and who knows what will happen! But the most important thing is :-
An excellent opportunity to continue to build on our current momentum.
What a fantastic 12 - 18 months we have had!
If we can all get together now and re-double our efforts, then who knows where this football club could be in another 18 months!
Our ambitions may not be as lofty as the clubs mentioned above (plus Hednesford, FCUM, etc), but there is no reason why we can’t continue to upset the apple-cart a little!
Agree with all the above posts. Lets not forget the team and the management made history for Witton by achieving promotion in style last season. We are second in the league now and for me technically superier over 1/2 the teams in the BSN never mind the Evo Prem. Ok, we have our “off days” but hey so do Barca (The best team in the world) . Lets win the league this year in style and next season perform well in the league we should be in! proud, yeah damn right! SBL
Personally i don’t expect us to be promoted again but with the team we’ve got who knows? I’m always proud to wear the witton colours when i’m out and about especially if i see a sorry vics fan Absolutely made up with the start to the season, hopefully it will continue. COME ON WITTON! COME ON WITTON!
Agree with most of the above and would of course love to see the Albs in the BSN, however I am wary of rising too high too quickly.
Looking at fixtures on the home page December is a tough month and by my reckoning not one of the games will we go into as overwhelming favourites. If we can still be in touch with the top few come the new year then who knows?
We’ve exceeded all reasonable expectations so far. Looking a lot more solid and also I think we look more likely to score than at the start of the season. It’s a great time to be a wittoner. Agree we need to keep up the hard work both on and off the field. It’s also great to hear how much the new people we’re getting through the gates enjoy there day which is a great credit to everyone involved with our club.
agree with most of what has been said above. we are doing brilliantly, better than most of us could have hoped for. i would still settle for a top ten finish and look to push for promotion next season. but the way this team is performing who knows, it could be even more glory for witton as this team finds it’s feet in ahigher league. as well as a thank you to the players for some excallent performances this season to date, a big thank you and congrats mus t go ou to the management team of pritch and company, heres looking forward to even better times.
Agree with so many of the comments. Just to get another thread going…
One of the principal issues regarding us pushing on is MONEY. Despite all the efforts, we are some way from attaracting the numbers through the gate needed to finance a Blue Square team ( dreaming now…). So here is my question, do we go for the ‘big backer’ with all the risks that entails or stay ‘small and beautiful’
What do people think??
With our best 11 on the field I think we are a match for anyone. That’s the problem - how often can we continue to go to the well with our current squad. Disappointed about Stotty leaving, but we all know it makes sense and therein lies the problem. How do we keep a squad happy and continue with this form?
That’s always the issue at our level and at the moment, the management team have achieved amazing results. Yes, promotion would be great, but you can bet the teams with the bigger budgets will get the big transfers/loans towards the business end of the season.

I don’t feel this even needs answering, how often do you see teams going bust for this exact reason? I’d rather always have my club to watch than risk it all.
For me its not about promotion, promotion, promotion its about being a witton fan, the love of the club and the pride that comes with it. We’ll take the highs and we’ll take the lows but at the end of the day if we still get to follow the albion up an down the country no matter what division we’re in then we’ll be happy because when alls said and done that’s all that matters!!! WE ARE ALBION
