bowdown well done to everyone who did the walk today must have been tough in that heat !
i agree well done.
kelsall hill was a killer,it seemed to go on forever and ever
feel a little stiff this morning. enjoyed it though but the worst part for me was between sandiway and hartford the hottest part of the day.
Many years ago, way back in the mist of time, me Gil Prescott, Roy Knop and Ian Gough missed the last train and walked in a snow storm from Chester. We got as far as the Farmers Arms pub at Kelsall and then phoned for a taxi so lads, I salute you for doing the whole walk.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored/donated to the walkers and the lads playing in the supporters match today (I was planning on coming to watch but the 17 mile walk and staying out in the Quayside till 2am meant a late lie in today)
Thanks to Jimmy for organising the walk, John Powell and Phil Carter for keeping us supplied with drinks along the way and believe me seeing you guys every half mile really helped keep us going and finally to all my fellow walkers a huge well done as we all kept each others spirits up and despite the pain we had a great time.
On a sad note we found out about the passing away of fellow Wittoner Martin Chesworth as we were setting off, a lovely man who became a very good friend and a great minutes applause before the game yesterday was very moving.
Thanks for that Matt, a very proud day to be a “Wittoner” Saturday, and a very big thanks to all involved (Not forgetting the number 82!), didn’t you mention a walk to Buxton?, B)
Land’s End to John ‘O’ Groats next ?
