The Tony Waterman Walk

Evening all, As its now confirmed that we will be playing Chester at home on Saturday 26th July would anyone be interested in doing the Charity Walk from Chester on that day in memory of Tony and to raise funds for his adopted charity The Joshua Tree, appreciate its short notice but anyone up for it text me and i’ll get the Sponsor forms to them,Cheers B) ( Mobile 07760482922 )

JAP, put me down for the usual if the walk takes place
WHS.

Thanks Alan, remind me again, the usual was it £100? or did you want a sponsor form?, Appreciate whatever you can contribute to this worthy cause and to honour a good Wittoner, like Tony.
The route according to Google , if we start out from Chester Rugby Club would be approx. 16.5 miles, thats almost twice what we achieved when we did the Runcon walks so it could be broken down to suit whatever you feel up to, its the taking part that counts and not the amount of miles you clock up, personally I was thinking about halving it and having a couple of cheeky Carling stops on the way back!.
Sponsorship Forms will be available by tomorrow, as usual it will be in aid of our chosen Charity, The Joshua Tree and for the Witton Albion Dev Fund, give us a shout if you fancy it! cheers! B)

Takes me all my time to walk around the ground at half time but I will sponsor someone. (Wish it was £100!!)
WHS.

Morning all, Sponsorship Forms now available and can be collected from the shop, at the ground this Saturday or can even get you one dropped off, the Joshua Tree are interested to know the number of people doing the walk for there Twitter and publicity , so anyone intending to take part please let me know as soon as poss, as this is a fair distance we are intending to break it down into two or even three, the full distance,of 16.5 miles, a ten miler and even a 5mile pub crawl! so that should cater for most “Wittoners” any details just text or post etc, cheers! B)

definatly up for it. the only stumbling block is transport. so if anyone from crewe or sandbach is doin the walk from chester can i have a lift please.

Just driven the route and clocked up 17.5 miles, footpaths all seem ok until they disappear at the bottom of Kelsall Hill so we will have to leave the A54 on to the Chester Road through Kelsall and then re-join at the top, would hope to set off from Barnside Vets on the corner of Hare lane at around 7.30 (That’s am!) so with the wind in the right direction the first Pub stop should be The Blue Cap at 11.45 ish? or around the 12 mile mark, Phil will be circling with water en-route and anyone struggling can always get a lift, a detailed map will be available on the day or text me and i’ll send you one, going to set off from Wincham Park at 7am and transport will be provided so you need to confirm that your Walking as soon as poss, theres about 15 of us so far, for any other details contact neil or myself, cheers!
the walkers so far,in no particular order, Matt,Debs,Gaz,Crouchy,Pooley,Grace,Neil,Ste,Hursty,Chad,Cam,Lutkie,Roger,Ben,and Me, Tony would be chuffed!

jess is doing it not grace,we’ll have finished walk before she’s out of bed.

Excellent effort! Well done to all who are taking part.

Me and Hursty are definitely up for it.
Never mind the blue cap I’m hoping to be in the club for 12

After speaking with JAP i have now got a justgiving page set up so its easier to get sponsor money plus the benefit of not having to collect the cash in person!

Now its been set up any of the other walkers can set up their own Justgiving page by going to www.justgiving.com/thejoshuatree and on the home page Typing in “The Tony Waterman Walk”

Anyone wishing to sponsor me can do so by clicking this link http://www.justgiving.com/Matt-Cat/

Thank you :goal

Big thanks to those who have sponsored me, as someone who gets out of breath walking upstairs this 17 miles is a massive challenge and im sure Tony will be proud of everyone of us doing the walk and also taking part in the supporters match being organised by Robbo

Evening all, can now confirm that transport has been arranged to take us to Chester leaving Wincham Park at 7am, should get us to the drop off point at 7.30, the Joshua Tree have arranged some “bucket rattling” stops on the way and may be a quick carling at the Blue Cap, but hopefully we should be back in time for kick off! text me for any further info, cheers! B)

looking forward to it should be a good day.

will defo need a lift from the ground please. see u all at seven

Just seen the column in the guardian.
I’d like to say It’s a privilege to be taking part and I can’t wait for it!!

Yep I cant wait to do this, had a few practice miles clocked up this week (and a few blisters too) so Saturday cant come fast enough!
Having a bowl of pasta at 6am then plenty of drinks for the walk and hopefully a Birties Pie when we finally arrive at the ground
