Tonight

Just a reminder that Witton Albion Reserves v Daten is a 6.30pm ko tonight at the Britannia Carpets Stadium.

GE
This evening’s match proved to be most productive. Not only did the team win 5-0, a week after a very young outfit played champions Middlewich losing 1-5, but it gave a number of 1st team players returning from injury much needed match fitness.

Full Backs Liam Brownhill and Chris Adams had their first 90 minutes of the season whilst Gary Furnival, Adam Foy and keeper Brett Walker also got full matches in. Mark Jones, a sub in the opening two 1st team games also played for the 1st half.

The 5 goals scored were all products of great buid ups and were scored by three of the very promising Under 18 year olds. Twin and both very tall strikers Dean Williams and Adam Armstrong both scored twice with left sided attacking wing-back Kyle Griffin also netting.

All three scorers have in fact been called up into the Cheshire County FA Youth trial match next Tuesday.

A good performance from a strong Witton side, the youngsters blended well with the more experienced players, despite the 5-0 scoreline, Brett Walker was kept busy in the Witton goal and was forced into some excellent saves.
The lads coming back from injury and those fighting for first team places looked sharp tonight the pick of the bunch for me was Gary Furnival.
Apologies for not knowing names yet but the number 10 for us looks a good prospect .
Good luck on Saturday at Poynton.
Any chance that the reserves can get to play in the stadium will be a great bonus for them.
