Sorry Colin.
WHS.
That was our best result since beating Sheffield at the end of November.
Everyone played a part and it probably was Danny’s best game for us, but Jack Baker played out of his skin.
I just hope we can recreate that effort and skill in the next five games and give ourselves the best chance of getting into the playoffs.
Well done Gary and the lads
A great win and fantastic effort, a few were dead on there feet but they kept going, yes we had abit of luck but imo we deserved it, just need results to go for us and for us to keep the pressure on, it will be tough but its possible, nice to see some happy wittoners for a change
no problem WHS, I look just as young as my lad easy mistake to make ha ha
We achieved last night without the leading scorer and the player most fans were tipping as Player of the Season who chose not to stay and fight the cause !
The goalkeeper and back four were tremendous !
We still need to win the last 5 games and can’t rely on others slipping up ?
Great result by players, manager and supporters sounds like a good game, bring on friday.
AS I said on the other thread Eli, I think 10 more points will get us into the play offs as none of the top teams have shown any consistancy and are unlikely to start now. Another 15 points will see us second!!
WHS.
With the exception to the result had a good night at your place.
Cracking ground , best I have been to this season and great hospitality given by your Committee/ Directors. Like our Committee there are a lot of older Citizens there and we need younger people to take up the mantle to keep our clubs going for years to come.
Witton Albion are the best and second best team I have seen this season. Hope you go up.
We might have made a game of it if we had taken one of our many chances , but thats football.
You got to grips with the pitch much quicker than us, and we were chasing shadows for the first 25 mins. After that it was pretty even. We had your goalie as MOM.
Does your manager have the worries of the world on his shoulders? (You played good football against us in both games)I thought he was going to bust into tears in the clubhouse.
Good luck to the Albion. Hopefully see you next season in the Prem (if we get there)
Kind words, thanks very much for them, and good luck to Sports too!!
Cheers Mick Le Over. At least somebody likes us! :woohoo:
Thanks Mick Le Over,
You guys are a decent side and when no club looked liked they wanted to win the league you seized advantage and earned a good lead at the top. Your home form in particular has been league winning standard and compare your home form to the games we have lost and you can see the difference. On our day we are not a million miles off but consistency wins leagues and I thoroughly expect you to go up as Champions (do us a favor though and beat those in the top half dozen that still need to come to your place).
Enjoy the run-in and hopefully a title win, I think you are reasonably well equipped for life in the Prem.
OK I’ve criticised Gary in recent weeks but he got it right with his tactics on Tuesday night and his management of the team who gave their all. Ok we had a bit of luck but boy did we earn it. If only we could have shown the same application against the likes of Brigg and Crapwell we’d be right in there but lets hope its not too late!!
Well done!! Keep proving me wrong and get six points over Easter with the same kind of effort! Special mention for Danny Warner who I thought had a great game and has been consistent for us, but all the lads were heroes on the night!!
