Time to move on methinks… the king is dead, long live the king and all that…and I am sure NIge, Sheens and Dave respect that too…
Tony Sullivan comes highly rated and the changes were inevitable if Tony wants to bring in his own team. Time to re-energise the club and make something of this season - hopefully starting today !!
Although it’s sad to see so many loyal servants leaving the club, it’s something that is completely justified. We need to thank them for their efforts and commitment and move on. Players, managers, coaches etc come and go, but Witton Albion doesn’t.
People complaining already that it’s wrong to let these servants go? Imagine being our new manager and being told that “he’s staying. So is he, oh and him,” it’d completely undermine him before a ball is even kicked.
Tony Sullivan will have his own ideas, his own favoured staff and his own coaching style that he’ll want to establish at the club, what we need to do is get right behind him and give him our full support.
Welcome to Witton Tony, hopefully this is a new (successful) dawn for our football club.
If we are being honest things haven’t been right on the pitch for the last eighteen months, things needed changing and new ideas needed to be brought in. Its not pleasant to see people leave but the new manager must be given the opportunity to do things his way.
I really do think we lost a lot last season and this season when Sheenan was injured and this season when he stopped playing, his ability to keep to the ball and dictate the pace of a game and ultimately control games is something we didn’t replace.
The season we were promoted and the following season when we reached the play offs he was brilliant and it was no coincidence in the play off semi at FC United when he played at full back we didn’t control the game as we had been doing.
In all fairness the players haven’t performed for the management team this season and hopefully a fresh start will do the club ,management, players and supporters the world of good.
After talking to a few people from lairds looks like tony and gards don’t get on and he wants gards out not good for the club if he going to have personal grudges against players gards one of the players we need to keep
Gards is definitely a player we should not be losing, so hope there is little in the rumour and They can sort it out , we need to add good players not lose them.
Maybe an odd post but apparently they don’t get on and that’s why gards left lairds and that was to wittons benefit ,be bad if he does get pushed out by new manager
if gards loves witton as much as he say’s he does it’s up to him to show the manager that he wants to play for the club.seems to be a bit of a click at the club where it does’nt matter how bad we played some players seem to be overlooked on their own poor performance.just my opinion.UTA.
Pretty much spot on cj, the publicity around the budget is always touchy however we do generally pride ourselves on being relatively open and not a closed shop etc when it comes to things, wud it have been different if players had suddenly left with no reason? I’m always available to discuss monetary matters of the club and you all know where to find me, I wouldn’t post on here however.
For whatever reason though we are where we are with the team we have, we have a highly rated, ambitious young manager whom we need to back n the same way we did to Brian sheens and the team.
Not gonna labour the point and it’s great and sometimes depressing that the finances of the club are open Etc.but the publicity of the budget adjustment BEFORE the Runcorn game was an error and amateurish in the extreme and DID affect the performance and subsequently the direction we now find ourself in.
I also totally agree that any new manager needs his own team around him otherwise he can’t by definition be a manager.
As per previous fully behind anyone in red and white and the new manager who has a good reputation and won’t take any prisoners.
