Showed good character after saturday - well done!
After being unable to make the previous two games, I totally forgot about this one! Great result at a ground where if memory serves me correctly we do not have a good record. Well done lads.
Great result !! :cheer:
To be honest an error strewn game from both sides, really glad tho to take all 3 points even if it was from a dubious penalty good work by dene ennion tho, i think this was an important win after saturday and should lift confidence a bit, still too much hoof for me we need to be disciplined, patient and have the confidence to play on the deck, that is the only way we will get the best out of our strikers. my mom ben harrison great goals from matty and titch made it a good day out - ill enjoy my tea now.
Damn good to get a win there today after Saturday, shows great character and well done to all!!
Agree with CJ and MM and enjoyed the game as I think most Wittoners did. It did show that when we play football we can murder teams. Its no coincidence that the build up to both our goals was technically excellent. Although it much pains me to say it the build up for both was like watching Arsenal of a year or two ago, crisp passing which cuts through defences easily, but you have got to have the players who can do it and we do have a few of those. Bit of a lucky penalty though but never the less a good 3 points. The team is very young and should improve under the managerial expertise and guidance. I like the way our management team gives out constructive advice to the players on the pitch. Its a refreshing change from the usual moaning and growning of some non league managers. Got to learn not to give away unnecessary free kicks and concentrate more on playin to feet and by doing so we should bring our talented strike force more into the game. Any views out there??? SBL
SBD, yes a view on the strikers as ever, both technically good players, both work hard but as yet they are not a pair, they dont work closely, and play too far apart, id say Liam is a bit down on confidence after scoring a shed load last season, however given time i think they will click and give defences a lot of trouble when that happens, and i absolutely agree that playing on the deck and to feet would help as well, sliding balls down the side of huge centre backs is more productive than putting balls onto there heads, but im sure the mgt team have talked this thro, footballers however dont always listen well, those that dont usually get moved on or just dont improve, and drop down to there natural level, those that do and can listen improve and prosper.
Excellent result especially after Saturday.
I’m glad it was a dodgy penalty (judging by comment on here) since last season Trafford grabbed a late home draw when their keeper came up for a corner and handled the ball over the line. Justice!
