Tranmere Rovers Youth vs Witton Albion Youth.

Witton’s Youth team travel to leaders Tranmere Rovers on Sunday afternoon in a North West Youth Alliance fixture. Fresh from last weekend 's excellent win at Marine, Albion face their toughest test of the season so far against a side who have the benefit of full-time training and facilities at their disposal. The youngsters will relish the chance to test themselves against top opponents and will be looking to impose themselves on the game as best as they can. They have beaten Tranmere in the past albeit in a cup competition and can take confidence from that. Kick off at Solar Campus is 2.30pm.

Full Time Score from Solar Campus:

North West Youth Alliance:

Tranmere Rovers Youth 3 Witton Albion Youth 3.

Witton’s Youth team were denied an excellent away win as Tranmere Rovers scored an 89th minute equaliser for the game to end 3-3.

A first half saw Witton completely dominate and an excellent lob from Joe Booth and a neat side-foot finish from James Rogers saw Witton take a 2-0 lead into the break.

The hosts fought back strongly to peg the score back to 2-2 through a neat finish and a Findlay Hutton headed own goal.

With 10 minutes to go, Right back Jack Walker delivered an excellent free kick for Findlay Hutton to flick on to Centre Back partner George Studzinski who headed against the inside of the post, only for Captain Ronan Eves to steer the lose ball into the corner.

The away side couldn’t quite hang on against the league leaders as the late drama followed, but are on a good run having only been beaten once in 8 games.
