Still waiting for news.
No signings because we’re in the wrong sodding league!!
We are playing tomorrow so we must have some players!
WHS.
Tomorrow’s game at Barnton is mostly Development Squad players and Trialists.
Sorry, Vauxhall is on Tuesday.

Can’t believe we are going in to our first friendly without having announced a single signing. Very worrying and not good for season ticket sales I’m sure. Hopefully things will start moving this week.
Maybe because our manager wants to see how they play against strong opposition, in a Witton shirt, before signing them?
I am worried now. Just back from a holiday hoping to find a flurry of signings and nothing.
Did we even announce our retained list? Have we got Hopley and Gards? What’s happening with Titchiber?

Trust the Manager, I am sure he has it all in hand, probably waiting to see which England players have been released!!
WHS.
Anthony Brown is a central defender, Matty Devine a left back/attacking midfielder who were both part of the Burscough team which finished fifth in the Evo-Stik Division One North. Wes Benjamin is also a defender who featured for Clitheroe last season but initially, came through the Development Squad at Stockport County.
We’ve now got ten players, one of the Supporters Team can make up the numbers!!
WHS.
Defender/midfielder Paul Williams has joined from Burscough.
Paul made 9 appearances for us in early 2009 and then had a lengthy spell with Prescot Cables prior to joining Burscough.
It was him who scored from the spot at Vauxhalls last week
Midfielder Tom Owens, who was with us at the end of last season has re-signed for the coming season.
Witton Albion Football Club can confirm the following signings today.
Prince Haywood, a midfielder who can also play at right back has joined us from Ramsbottom United. Has played for Stalybridge Celtic & Colwyn Bay.
Daniel McKenna, an 18 year old forward has also joined from Bolton Wanderers.
Prince was wearing the No. 6 shirt, red boots, on Monday and also in the number 7 shirt against Ashton last Saturday.
Danny has played in the last four friendlies, the wee lad on the left, who wore the number 3 shirt against Alty.
Welcome to the Albion guys, hope you enjoy yourselves.
Bit of confusion about McKenna, he played left back on Monday night but his profile on the Bolton website says he’s a forward. Andy Simpson has announced that both signings are midfielders.
Does it matter though if they fit into the team.
Confirms my first thought about the lad, a terrier in midfield, should help to disrupt other teams.

Back in the day he would be called a “utility man”! B) Not heard that phrase for a while as players these days seem to be a “specialist right back” or a “specialist winger” etc. Remember Mike Whitlow starting as a left back for us at the Central Ground, played him up front and he couldn’t stop scoring. Anyway lets hope he’s a good one wherever he plays. UTA
