Surely the family connection should make you a Wittoner then? :clap

Don’t forget, Rod his dad was a former Vics goalie (before even my time though!).
I did get dragged down to the central ground to watch on occasions when vics weren’t playing as his mum also worked in the tea hut.
My granddad who brought me up was also a wittoner.
My choice was based on the fact that green had always been my favourite colour so when I reached an age to realise that Northwich actually had football teams and one played in green…well, the choice was easy.
Plus I hate Man U so could never wear a black/red/white scarf or top!!..hell no!!
Fair enough mate. Mike was part of one of the first Witton teams I can remember watching, top player.
It is strange how we acquire our allegiances. All my Dad’s family were “GREEN” but my Dad had no real interest in football so I went with my Mum and her family to the old Central Ground and became a life long Wittoner. As for being a Spurs fan, when I was about seven I got asked which big team I supported. Not wanting to pick the very top team I chose the one then in second who had a strange name and seemed to have several Welsh players. I genuinely thought they were a Welsh club until informed by my wiser friends they were from London! I wanted to change to Man City but my mates would not hear of it, once you had chosen that was it, so here I am, sixty odd years later still a Tottenham Hotspur fan but still with a soft spot for City!

Similar to WHS, I’ve got my dad to thank for my allegiance to our wonderful club. My dad was a Wittoner from the mid 1940s although a number of his family were greens. He started watching them after coming out of the army in 1946 I started watching in the late 60s , it was the natural thing for me to do. There have been ups & downs but I’ve never regretted it for a minute.
Me neither Wheels, our club still exists!!

I think you have missed something Blackie, yes… There has been a duplication of Northwich V*cs in very recent times whereas Witton Albion have been in existence as one for 125 plus years. How did you miss that?
But vics still exist…just!
So…strange comment!
But nice to see whs can still turn a positive conversation of memories into a negative!
I’m glad I’ve never read any of his work.
Apparently he says he’s done a lot for Wilton…explains a lot !!
I thought this thread was for transfers/signings? I came on here expecting to see half a dozen new players signed on and instead got a walk down memory lane!
The two clubs purporting to be “Vics” have no direct relationship with either the club formed in 1874 or the one formed in 1890. They are both new clubs, one formed in 2012 and the other so many times I have lost count. The “Witton Albion” of today is exactly the same one that was formed in 1890. Now do you understand?
WHS.
Sorry Massive, it’s what happens when we are in close season, we get bored and reminisce. As for him not reading my articles, why would I want the opinion of a “Green” fan? He obviously has no taste! Now back to the important matter of signings. I think our little left back is going to be a real favourite, full of effort, tenacity and speed, what’s not to like?
WHS
Never said I have done a lot for Witton, certainly no more than the average supporter. As for turning a positive into a negative that will always happen when Green fans come on here, use your own forum.
AND.
Witton can today confirm three new signings:
Midfielder Bradley Bauress, from Colwyn Bay and a former Blackburn Rovers scholar.
Striker Karl Noon, formerly with Burscough, AFC Fylde, Warrington Town, Colwyn Bay, Vauxhall Motors & Marine.
Myles Arnold a midfielder who has come through the Development Squad.
Brilliant news Brad Bauress has signed, he has been brilliant and by far best player on the pitch last Saturday
The club website has up to date details and photos of all our squad available at:
