Just a thought :
I would prefer TS to stay at WAFC and hope that JV or ND attempts to change his mind PDQ!!! He is a very dependable player who could still play a big part in the remainder of the season, he gives 100% every time he pulls the shirt on and would be a loss IMHO!!!
Totally agree.
But if he WERE to leave, then a farewell performance for the Supporters Team would be an amazing parting-gesture.
I believe that Tom Spearitt is joining our former manager Mr Moore at Warrington Town.
Steve
I hope that it is just a loan move, and his long term future is at Witton.
Message to Tom Spearitt if you read this. By all means go on loan to Warrington town and keep up your match fitness but don’t leave Wittion Albion. Tony and Pritch have the centre back shirts at the moment but there are always injuries and suspensions and that could give you an opportinity to get back in.Plus the fact you are a versatile player who can also play full back so the likelihood is that you will get a chance back in the team at some point. You are too good a player and too popular a player to lose Tom so don’t do anything hasty. Stay with us you have a long term future with Wittion Albion!!
Tom’s registration & contract with WAFC have just been cancelled by mutual consent. On behalf of everyone at the club I have wished him well in the rest of the season at Warrington Town FC.

It’s a shame we didn’t get chance to give him a send off. He’s been a committed and loyal servant to Witton over the last 3 seasons or so.
Best of luck Tom.
I think this is a big blow. I know we have Coo,Kearney, Pritch,Barras and Brownhill as defenders. I don’t know what the sketch is with Chris Royle, but Tom would have come into it had we got injuries and then it would have been up to him to cement his first team place with some good displays. I really rate Ian Kearney though and to be honest its only a matter of time before he becomes a first team regular and I hope the cornerstone of our defence for years to come.Maybe this might have influenced Tom decision as Ian is proably higher up in the pecking order.
All the very best Tom. Apart from that wee spell when forced really to fill in a mid-field berth I thought your performances were consistent. Obviously with the "old timers" keeping you out of central defence and the "young upstarts" doing very well on the flanks then both you and Ian have been forced to bide your time, certainly this season.
Your passion has never been in question so it’s a real shame you feel the need to leave us, especially in the light of where we are. However a playing career isn’t really that long and first team regular football is surely the aim. Whether you have chosen the correct club to go to though then there’s been a lot written about Town’s ambitions but I doubt whether they’ll come anywhere near fruition.
I can understand Tom’s decision as he must want to play every week, he perhaps considers himself fourth choice after Barras, Pritch and Kearney. This is a challenge to keep squad players happy and given that we have only conceded 13 league goals the defence has often picked itself.
Tom has played a big part in our success over the last two seasons and always gave 100% every time he pulled the shirt on. He is also a good lad off the pitch and would always speak with fans in the club and whilst warming up.
I would selfishly rather he had stayed as cover but wish him the very best of luck at Warrington (where it is rumoured he will be Captain)! Hopefully we will see him at Wincham Park in the not too distant future.
All the best Tom
All the best Tom, it’s a shame to lose a player with your commitment to the Albion whih was clear to see in every game you played. Good luck in the future
Hear hear ! Good luck in your future career Tom. You were a 100% man in every game you played for us, and it’s understandable that you want first team football every week. You will be an asset to Warrington. A thoroughly nice man as well !
I said it to a couple of people today and they agreed so I’ll be brave enough to say it on here, I can’t understand why we let a contracted player go for nothing, a nominal fee of say £500 could have gone to the players fund, which is a nights work on a race night etc… whats the point of putting players on contracts and then tearing them up?
From what i understand, there was talk of a fee but Tom had a gentleman’s agreement with Jim. Basically a few weeks ago Tom asked that if he still wasn’t getting in the team in HIS FAVOURED POSITION, then he be allowed to move on if another club offered him this opportunity. A month has passed and he’s not been getting a game, so Jim kept to his agreement and has allowed him to move to Warrington - who have apparantly also offered him the Captain’s arm-band.
Without giving too much away there is an arrangement in place regarding TS to WTFC.

Thanks Graham especially for the little chat we had on Saturday which arrested some of my fears about the immediate future!! I get the impression here that we’ve not seen the last of Tom Spearitt!!
Not that sad to see Tom go, I thought his attitude was beginning to get a bit poor because he wasn’t playing as much as he wanted and Jim was trying to accommodate him because of it. He had done well for us though and wish him all the best.
Warrington beaten 7-1 today :-X
Says it all even Tom couldn’t stop the rot!! Though I’m sad we’ve lost Tom I think I can see the bigger picture. We have cover for the defence but little cover for up front as was showed yesterday at Eastwood when Adam was not playing. I think the money saved on Tom could be best used in getting in forward cover. I’m sure our management lads are working on this and it would be insurance to ensure we go up as champions!! I’ve heard a couple of names being bandied about and I’d be really happy if they joined the club!!
