Halifax apply for administration
Halifax Town have filed notice of their intent to enter administration.
The consortium attempting to buy the club have filed the notice, which will go before the courts on 26 March.
Administration would mean a 10-point deduction for Town, who are currently 12 points above the Blue Square Premier relegation zone.
“It is likely that the making of an administration order will result in a 10-point penalty,” said the club’s administrator Peter Sargent.
The notice of administration means the petition due to be heard on Monday, after former club chairman and director Raymond Moreland issued a winding-up petition, will now not take place.
Until the court hearing takes place, it is very much business as usual for the club

Whilst the £7,944.86 sum owed to Moreland is relatively small, the debt has resulted in other short-term financial demands being placed on the club.
This meant the consortium felt they had no alternative but to file for a notice of administration to protect the club.
“It is clearly very disappointing for all concerned with the club that the presentation of the winding up petition has meant that action has had to be taken to protect it in the short term,” added Sargent.
“Now is the time for the fans of Halifax Town, and the people of Calderdale generally, to support the club. Until the court hearing takes place, it is very much business as usual for the club.”
