Rather obviously and unfortunately we wlll still be in this league next season.
The following are a couple of sobering thoughts and again we should be ambitious enough to try and win it, but the following are facts:-
Belper and Leek - 2 clubs who are on a par with us supportwise and ambition wise will still be in this league.
At least one of Chasetown or Sheffield - The 2 best teams imo we have faced this season will also be in the league.
On the bright side Mickleover have won the league with a budget considerably lower than most clubs in the league, therefore it can be done!
Also Kidsgrove have made the play offs with players including the Schwarz brothers who were playing at the lowest level of the Mid-Cheshire Sunday leagues!
Same applies though, if we spend 2 or 3 years at this kind of level the crowds will drop to the point where we find it difficult to compete at this level.
Can’t blame people for staying away effort is crap , opposition is crap, refs are crap
Chad, I have just said elsewhere on the forum that there must be local lads who are good enough to play in this league! I hate us being at this standard, but I will continue to come to matches when I can and I will continue to chuck in the odd tenner when I can afford it, we just need our core support to not lose heart; it will be better next season I am sure whether Mr. Finley stays or not.
WHS.
Lots of Wittoners are crying out for the best of local talent to represent the wonderful red and white.I would welcome this romantic notion but where will that take us.
I watched Lostock play Witton and it was very enjoyable.Lostock played some fantastic football, but at times quite happily committed football suicide in their own penalty area.Full marks to Lostocks management team in honouring their principles.
I would gladly have the entire Lostock set up play for Witton, but it would not get us out of this league.Where do we want to go?
I would follow the excellent Lostock football principles but there is one unique factor that will always be a thorn in our side. The thorn is that we are WITTON ALBION and the very tag induces extra pressure that some cannot cope with.
This is what makes football so addictive.
Let us all stick together because this is what makes us the team to beat.
