Keeper cost us, but it’s the first time this season so i don’t want to be too hard on him. Hopeully he will recover and be as solid as ever.
I definately think that we missed Pritch today, even if just to keep a calm head at the back.
We played some of the best attacking football i have seen us play in a long long time, and the first goal was a joy to watch. Great celebration by Macca too. I vaguely remember some talk of Kinsey being too slow, but i certainly didn’t see that when he broke from the half way line. His run made the goal.
I have never seen such a one-sided game finish 3 - 3, but that’s football for you.
The strike near the end looked over the line from where i was stood by the flagpole. But the ref gave us nothing in the second half.
Concur with everything said so far. We played extremely well, and all 3 of our goals were something special.
You can only feel for our keeper, as he has kept us in games this season. I just hope that’s all his howlers over for the season in this match.
I was most impressed with Anton Bryan. He has excellent ball control, can go past players at will, and has a vicious shot. My MOM of the match, when there were so many more in the frame.
Definitely one of those days.
Radcliffe created 2 chances and came away with a draw.
Matt Cooper had a mare but we know what he’s capable of normally.
There was some excellent play with lots of skill and we might have had a penalty on another day.
As often happens when we don’t do ourselves justice we get some good results elsewhere and Chorley losing at home to Harrogate Railway is good news.
Anton Bryan’s two shots were stunning.
Ben Harrison beat 4 players in a mazy 40 yard run topped off with an excelllent pass to Botham.
So frustrating we played so well that we should have won 8 nil. Radcliffe got off lightly. The only shots they had at our goal were as a result of mistakes made by our unfortunate goal keeper. The problem for Mr Ogden is now does he play Cooper in the next game hoping that his confidence will be ok or does he go for Lee Jones. Its a catch 22 because playing Lee might deflate Matt coopers confidence further. I wouldn’t like to have to make that decision!!
On the game I thought we looked fantastic with excellent passing and movement and 3 great goals. If I had a grouse it was probably that our superiority should have yielded still more goals. I like the look of Anton and Frosty looked really sharp. Maquire looks the business with his passing and energy all over the field and Macca is playing with the enthusiasm of a teenager. Ben Harrison plays with a maturity beyond his years and I firmly believe he could make it to the Premier league. Ask yourself how many good English defenders do you have in the Premier League. With the right guidence Ben can easily go all the way and playing alongside Pritch and Kearney can only help at this stage of his career and Pritch is nowhere near retiring yet still miles in the old warhorse.
One last observation on Mr Ogden. In less than 3 months he’s produced a team that is definately top 8 on a budget that is bottom 3. The team spirit the way we play and the majority of the lads he’s signed are top draw. We need to continue to get behind him and the lads because I certainly feel success for us is not far away. Apart from the blip at Skem and todays frustration I’m really enjoying watching us again. So different to last seasons performances.
Onward and upward!! Oggie will get us there I’m sure.Keep it going Paul because I know the fans, the board and the whole club appreciate what your doing and how far we’ve come in a short space of time!!Same goes to Murph and the coaching staff as well as the players!
Great performance! I think we played some of our best football in years and Radcliffe will never get a more fortuitous point than the one they got today.
The positives far outway any issues posed by the result. More play like that will see us suceed, I have no doubt. Some great individual performances and agree with Thatch, Anton looks a really good acquisition to the team.
Unbelievable score line , We batterd them, played really well, some exciting players in the side and fast becoming one of my favourites matty wood, pace, skill, great attitude the best left back since brownhill, seems to be improving every game since switching to left back, picking the front 2 will not be easy when stott is fit, with little, kinsey and frosty all challenging, id just go with kinsey and frost on current form, frosty looks superb. I really hope matty the keeper can quickly put that behind him because he has been terrific all season, fortnunately not too much damage done in the draw and we are still looking good for the playoffs.
Enjoyed everything about the game apart from the result!
Easily the best attacking and creative performance I have seen in a good few years, all the players gave of their all and looked comfortable on the ball.
Obviously very disappointed with the goals, but thats football, the only real grumble I’d have is the amount of times we opt to pass the ball back to the keeper in a game, thus increasing the pressure on him.
Good support from the terraces and a growing sense of comaraderie between players and supporters can only bode well for the future. The team were quite rightly applauded off.
Twenty four hours later and it still remains a fantastic football display.Frostys touch for the second goal was sublime.Carl was a constant threat and shown his class throughout the game.Ben also makes football look easy,he really is everything our club is all about.
Nice to see Ally Brown and Mark Jones have good games.I think in the first half Macca may have give Mark a peck on the cheek.
I do not care about the dropped points because i was entertained by the wonderful football.
Nearly forgot but i thought Peter was perfect. In the first half he got behind Boroughs defence numerous times. On more than one occasion he stopped play and swept the ball past the defender and left him for dead. For me he can do no wrong, seldom he does.
I know i will take stick for this but part of Peters play and poise reminds me of Berbatov, two very clever footballers.
very good performance, should have buried radcliffe , but thats football. unlucky for matt cooper, because he has been outstanding all season, he can and should put saturday behind him, cos he is an excellant keeper.very impressed wit anton, what aclas player, and ben harrison just gets better and better.this team will certainly win somehting, maybe not this season, but who knows. they all play with commitment and the team spirit and determination cannot be questioned. come on you reds.
