I have just been reading the Chester forum regarding the farce over ticket sales for the boxing day game v our neighbours and its not pretty reading, not laughed so much in ages.
The problem is Jim won’t allow tickets to be sold at Chester because they wanted a small commission to pay ticket sellers etc (50p per ticket roughly) so Chester fans will have to make the journey over here to buy tickets in advance. Lots going to boycott the game, lots going to game but will not spend anything at the ground, another huge cock up by the man in charge.
Why is it all ticket anyway? no problems here last year with Chester fans (except the result!)
Anyway thought you might like to see a couple of comments they have written.
If any Northwich officials read this may I kindly suggest you take the short walk down the road to your near neighbours Witton and ask them how to deal with Chester. The only issue they had was they realised the terrace was getting full so they opened a gate got a line of stewards in place and bingo issue solved. Class is something you either have or don’t considering Northwich are the “bigger club” Witton seem much classier.
spending nothing inside the ground on the day should do the trick. Maybe Witton Albion should take advantage of the situation and open their social club on the day too. I for one would be happy to spend my money at a decent friendly club like Witton, then take a short walk to the Victoria Stadium.
