The Reserves, who had Ally Brown, Adam Foy, Mark Jones & Chris Gahgan in their line-up lost by the narrowest of margins, 0-1 to a Styal side that were cock-a-hoop having beaten both the top two teams, Middlewich & Knutsford 2-0 in the previous 5 days.
With Jim Vince looking on Dean Williams missed the best chance of the evening when his headed attempt from an excellent Chris Gahgan cross went narrowly wide of the post. It was former Albion player Gavin Smith who scored the Styal goal ten minutes into the 2nd half.
Some very strange refereeing decisions coupled with extremely dubious flagging / lack of flagging were very evident throughout. One decision when Witton in possession and a 2nd pass already delivered into the danger area only for the ref to bring play virtually back to the half-way line and award us a free-kick!!
Reserves next in action at Moss Farm on Saturday v Greenalls (3pm) and then Thursday 12th when they host the team above them in the league Poynton (6:30pm)
