Vauxhall Motors v. Witton Albion

Down to the final four games as Witton travel to title-chasing Vauxhall Motors in their penultimate away game on Saturday afternoon.

Danny Holmes side find themselves in third place in the table going into the weekend and still with a chance of catching leaders Widnes.

Three wins in their last six games has kept the Motormen in touch at the top, but they suffered a temporary dent in their challenge when being held by Atherton Collieries last weekend.

Manager Ben Harrison was pleased with Albion’s showing against Stalybridge Celtic but one moment of lack of concentration turned out to be the decisive factor.

The form of leading scorer Nick Rushton and wily veteran Kevin Ellison have been a major part of their success this season and they will need watching carefully.

Witton’s last visit to the VanEupen Arena was on the opening days of last season when Kingsley Williams two penalties secured a 2-2 draw for the Albion.

The reverse meeting at the U Lock It Stadium earlier in the season was a closely contested encounter with Josh Quarless deciding the outcome with the only goal of the game.

Witton’s application and commitment in recent weeks has been positive, even if the results have been mixed and they will need to show more of that if they are to get the desired result.

Kick off the VanEupen Arena is 3pm.

An excellent point but we have to sign a goalscorer in pre season.

Witton remain fifteenth in the table.

Next Saturday we welcome Chasetown to the U Lock It Stadium for a 3pm kick off.

A really good battling point but you do wonder how Vauxhall are in the playoffs! Offered little really but long ball.

Witton 8 points clear from relegation now with 9 points to play for so hopefully safe?

Hooper up front on his own worked really hard and in the absence of Harrop and Djabi injured and Koral ill a point was welcome. UTA
