Vauxhall Motors vs Witton Albion (PSF).

Witton take to the road for the first time this pre season, as they make the relatively short trip to Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday night. The Motormen have been regular pre season opponents in recent years for Witton and generally, the games have been played away from Wincham Park. There are a number of connections between the two clubs with current Albion Manager Carl Macauley having held the same position at Vauxhall Motors during their days in the Conference North. Witton’s last visit to The Syncreon Arena around twelve months ago ended in a 2-2 draw, also in a pre season friendly. Motors have had a mixed programme so far results-wise beating Prestatyn Town 2-1 and then losing to Burscough at the weekend. There are likely to be a number of familiar faces in the Motormen’s squad as they have Kynan Mason, a player who spent time as a Witton Albion Development Squad member a few seasons ago. There are also the likes of experienced midfielder Karl Noon who has returned to Motors for another spell and a couple of faces who spent time last season playing with Albion squads at different levels, strikers Ryan Malone who was prolific at Development Squad level and Jordan Cobley, who featured for the first team on occasions but mostly as a substitute. Witton will undoubtedly be looking at trialists once again whilst looking to build the basis of a team before the season starts. The squad is taking shape and their success at the weekend in lifting the Vijay Anthwal Memorial Shield against tenants Northwich Victoria, will surely bring confidence for the games ahead. Kick off at The Syncreon Arena is 7.30pm.
