Next Saturday 30th July at Verdin Park, there is a festival for youth promoting activities for young people between the ages of 12-18. As Witton Albion, we are taking part to encourage young people to consider joining Witton in some capacity or another. The organisers are expecting up to 1000 young people. The main problem is the date clashes with Witton’s friendly at Bala Town, and we know many are anticipating going to the game.
Therefore, I would appreciate help on the following fronts -
-
Helping to load a gazebo, 2 small goals and a goal (ish) shaped structure into a transit van (kindly provided by Julian) at about 10am.
-
Unloading same at Verdin Park, erecting, and placing in the right place set by organisers. Hoping this may allow some to do this before setting off to sunny Wales.
-
Those able to help during the day (even temporarily) between 2 and 9pm would be appreciated. Intending to organise penalty shoot outs, five a side games (if enough people there), and the fairground type of shooting through holes in the “goalposts”. In addition, we will be available to parents and kids to join the Junior Membership scheme .
-
Help to dismantle all equipment and load transit van at or before 9pm, and unload at Witton. Could unload on Sunday morning if preferred, but Julian will want his van back in operation by Monday morning.
This could be a golden opportunity to enrol Junior Members and adults into our club, so please offer whatever help you can in making the most of this chance.
