The usual non event that you get at this time of year, may have been some use to Brian but not to the supporters who will be none the wiser regarding the team for the new season. Still, it was a nice night weather-wise and the company I was in was great. See you all on Thursday night when I will probably be on the gate or selling programmes or raffle tickets so have your cash ready.

Couldn’t make it tonight. Who played tonight was it trialists?
1st half had Plant, Gardner, Harrison, Glover, James, Powell & Andrews + 4 “triallists” throughout
2nd half had Cooper, Hancock, Wilson, Foster & Sheehan introduced + a further 3 “triallists” with the normal roll-on roll off scenario.
Tidy work-out all round especially bearing in mind the Villagers were playing at least their fifth pre-season match and were well organised, especially at the back.
They soaked up a good deal of Albion pressure in the first half-hour before starting to show really well going forward scoring around the 40th minute after Plant had just done well pushing a shot over the bar. their second came in the 89th minute
One poor point though was despite having a very decent paying gate there were no linesmens present, not even makeshift ones! :red
You could have volunteered CHAD. Seriously it would have been a waste of money to have linesmen, the game barely needed a referee!!
