Please be advised that Witton Albion FC has sold striker Lee Cropper to Evo-Stik 1st Division (south) Leek Town for an undisclosed fee. The ex-Norton United forward scored five goals in ten appearances for the Albion and is joined at Leek by Kyle Diskin and Niall Green who were both released by the Albion last week.
The club also announces the signings of George Grayson, Michael Powell and Aaron Dillon. Powell is no stranger to Wincham Park, having made 77 appearances and netting eleven goals in his previous spell with the club since signing from Chester. Michael departed Wincham Park for Stalybridge Celtic last March, helping preserve the Bower Fold club’s National League (south) status before leaving during the summer due to the travelling involved. He returns to strengthen the midfield and to provide an additional option at centre-back.
George Grayson is a left back who made his debut with a Man of The Match performance at Ossett Town. George began his career at Sheffield United before moving into non-league with Ramsbottom United. The 21 year old has enjoyed spells with Northwich Vics, Salford City and joins the Albion from Curzon Ashton, although he has also featured in Albion’s Development squad this season.
Aaron Dillon is a 19 year old goalkeeper who has signed from Athlone Town in Northern Ireland to provide extra competition to regular number 1 Danny Roberts and to Dominic Garner who has deputised for the injured Roberts in the last two senior matches. Garner is another graduate of the Development Squad.
Witton Albion welcomes all three players and hopes that they have long and happy associations with the club.
